The hospitality of the host is exceptional. All the staff are polite and accommodating. The staff made wonderful recommendations for dinning options in the area. There are many improvements being made to the property and we would definitely stay here again.

Hair in bedding, hair in shower, no bathroom door. We booked a room described as having an ocean view and our view was of a wall. We rebooked to another hotel after one night.

The property was in a beautiful location on top of a mountain served well by local buses. The room we had was large but open plan with shower and toilet. The shower was amazing hot and powerful. Electrics in the room were dodgy .And being out of season the pool and hottub were not available which would have been nice to know before booking. The fireplace was not useable. We were given a heater that worked well. Overall we had a lovely stay it was what we needed a break from normal life , peaceful .

Align expectations before booking

There is so much potential in this place! First the really good things: Marco and the rest of the staff were great! They attended to all our needs. Cars are available for rent very easily and cheaply - just ask! The view is stunning! Unfortunately that's about it. A lot of the things listed on hotels.com wasn't there, and if we had known, we would have booked another hotel, since we didn't have a car. There restaurant was closed, and there was a very limited food supply. There was a microwave and a fridge, but we had to ask for cutlery - which, when used, we put on the balcony, because we had to rinse it in the bathroom sink and then had nowhere to put it. The bathroom had no door and a glass wall - I love my girlfriend, but sometimes you need privacy. The other toilets on the premises didn't work... Toilet paper had to be thrown in the trash, which is fine, except the trash wasn't emptied. In fact, our room wasn't cleaned once in the four days we were there. The only trash can was the tiny one in the bathroom, so we also had to come up with another solution for trash. The water from the shower ran into the living room/kitchenette and soaked the floor. And there was only one light switch, which turned on ALL the light - not great when there is no bathroom door/wall and you need to go to the bathroom at night! We did still have a pleasant stay, just make sure to align expectations before booking.

I booked a room for one night via Expedia because my flight was canceled due to weather. The location was not at the address mentioned in my booking, but they shared with me the GPS coordinates when they realised I am so late. The taxi driver said it was not a nice place, but whatever, it was late evening. I arrived, the room was very much improvised, one light switch for all lights, plugs not working, a table made of a glass which was moving, shower and toilet in the room with no door - but one could see own reflection in a huge mirror (creepy), no warm water, cold and windy inside and very noisy- one could hear the entire house. The door was not safe, and someone tried to open it in the morning without knocking. The booking said they have a restaurant and wellness area, but none was true. There was nothing to eat except overpriced chips in the small mini bar. They asked me to pay 30 euro cash deposit. I went to bed, and 20 minutes later, my skin was itching, had some bites on back and belly. I turned on the light, and there were fleas jumping in the bed. Fleas...I killed some, and decided to leave. But the location is very remote and there was no taxi available. The bed smelled like old and cigarette, although it was marked as a non-smoking room. Early in the morning, I asked them to drive me to the airport, as they said they did it for 25 euro. They kept my entite 30 eur deposit and shared no receipt. Please stop sending people there and stop this collaboration.

Tout est un peu vieillissant, le équipements fonctionnent à moitié et rien n'est fourni à part les serviettes de bain. Pas de savon et gel douche dans la salle de bain, il faut réclamer le papier toilette, pas de quoi faire la vaisselle dans le petit kitchenette. En même temps, pour le prix c'est déjà très bien. Et puis le propriétaire nous offre l'apéritif à l'arrivée !!!

Si vous croyez que vous n'êtes pas dans la bonne rue en arrivant, c'est parce que vous êtes arrivés. La rue c'est un dépotoir automobile! L'odeur en retrant... ouf ca sens le cigare meme si c'est un hôtel non-fumeur. Pas de porte de salle de bain. On entend tout!!! Le vent rentre dans la maison et fait claquer les portes en permanence! L'impression que quelqu'un essaie de rentrer dans ta chambre à chaque fois. On a avisé pour un bruit qui cognait dans le mur en permanence. On nous a répondu que se n'était que le vent, mais le problème n'a jamais été réglé. Il y a un trou dans le mur, on voit dehors et les insectes passent! Beaucoup d'insectes dans la chambre.

De accommodatie ligt op een mooie plek met een prachtig uitzicht over de zee. De kamer was erg basic. Bij het boeken werd vermeld dat er ontbijt kon worden bijbesteld. Sale (poils de chats sur les draps et les serviettes), pas de VMC donc humidité présente dans la chambre (les serviettes était déjà humide à notre arrivés), une odeur de parfum se dégageait dans la chambre c’était beaucoup trop, une cuisine avec aucune équipement pour le nettoyage (éponge, torchon ou liquide vaisselle) … dommage le cadre était vraiment sympa.

Podia ter sido bem melhor, desde a descrição de cama kingsize que eram duas camas de solteiro juntas , aos bichos que estavam mortos no chão do quarto desde o primeiro dia e a água do chuveiro que ou era fria ou era a escaldar . Sinceramente preferia ter dado mais 10/30€ e ter aquilo que realmente estava descrito no anúncio do quarto. Não tenho nada a reclamar da simpatia mas das condições sim.

A estadia foi boa de uma maneira geral, existem sempre pontos a melhorar. Como o movimento não é o habitual neste momento de continua pandemia o serviço não se faz como habitual, a oferta de refeição é como o que aparece nas fotos, e o valor que pede é excessivo, principalmente o pequeno almoço, 7 euros por pessoa, acho muito, pois descendo 1 km temos uma pastelaria padaria onde se come bem mais barato. A falta de pessoal no alojamento também é notória. A culpa também é da situação em que nos encontramos.

Nous avions fait deux réservations dans cet établissement (l’une à notre arrivée sur l’île et la seconde pour notre retour) et elles ont été annulées le jour même de notre venue théorique ce qui fait que nous avons dû aller à l’hôtel(95€) à notre arrivée après avoir tourné plus d’une heure en pleine nuit et pour la seconde nous avons dû dormir dans la voiture sur le parking de l’aéroport

It was the worst stay I have had in years. No heating in the room and the weather was not warm as usual, so I literally freezed in that room for 4days. Owner not responsive and rude. No hot water for 3 days. No wifi working due to some works on the street. they are not prepared for any kind of unexpectable situations or weather. The shower leaked every time you took a shower. the room was old and the fireplace was stinking. They advertise it as soundproof walls but you can literally hear everything, and having an old wooden door does not help as well. Awful accomodation and owner. Would never recommend someone to go there.

Vennlig betjening med få av betjeningen som behersker engelsk. Eier er flytende i engelsk. Det er ikke dør til toalett, dårlig med stikk-kontakter - så.med fordel kan du medbringe forgrener. Når du slår av strømmen på bryter ved sengen, så slåes alle kontakter av, utenom den som brukes på kjøleskap. Det er vannkoker, kjøleskap og micro på rommet. Men det finnes ikke noe glass, kopper eller bestikk på rommet. Svømmebassenger oppvarmes kun av sol - kun 22 grader når vi var der i okt 2021. Eier har irriterende katter som går fritt rundt på eiendommen hele døgnet. Ble ikke tilbudt transport til nærområder. Brukt dopapir etter toalettbesøk, skal kastes i egen søppeldunk, denne blir kun tømt av betjeningen 1 gang per uke. Det er ingen kildesortering på hotelllet, til tross for det finnes ordning for kildesortering på Madeira.

Très mauvaise expérience à Madère. Et c'est rare.

Accueil lamentable, numéro de contact pour l'hébergement erroné, douche salle de bain bouchée, par contre serviette payantes. Paiement uniquement en espèce bien que le logo des cartes de paiements soit affiché. Pas de cuisine, les photos en PJ montrent ce qu'il en reste. Description de la soit disant suite non conforme. Terrasse non utilisable car située au dessus de la cheminée de la cuisine du restaurant. Devant ces différentes remarques faites au propriétaire sa seule réponse est: nous ne sommes pas un hôtel.... A éviter donc...

Small establishment with no office/reception, Our room was OK but a few changes would make much improvement. I tried but could not make my suggestions to anyone. Shared kitchen not available during ongoing refurbishment. Cafe/restaurant very cheap for full meals. Up in the hills with excellent views. Recommend a hire car because bus service is limited.

Secret places with excellent Portuguese cuisine

Great choice! Reasonable prices, incredibly tasty and inexpensive food, attentive and very helpful staff. Stunning views of the ocean and mountains, fresh air, birds singing, ambient music and ... complete relaxation. Walking, relaxing by the pool, patio, excellent restaurant with grill-fireplace styled as a chalet are available. As a result I stayed here much longer...
