"Reasons for only one star (but some. Hope at he end):
- dirty linens, no top sheet on 3 of 3 rooms and one of our three rooms had no blankets, despite cold weather
- No hot water during the complete stay
- filthy stairs and common rooms in one building. This was under refurbishment, but nobody cared about the guests
- breakfast was not edible for Norwegians
- staff saying problems would be fixed quickly, but nothing happened, again and again
- obvious fake reviews on the site. Disgusting!

"We have the best view our room overlook the Red Sea. The pool was clean and the property was spectacular. The only thing the property miss out is the sunset. I love the property very very beautiful hotel. Staff are helpful and rooms is clean. Breakfast is awesome."
"Lovely hotel after numerous visits here excellent location not far from airport but not on flight path.Staff have always been extremely helpful and friendly. Lovely rooms and very comfortable beds and showers with good pressure.Food always good here with plenty of choice and never a problem with sickness here.Overall a very good hotel at a very reasonable price "
"Al Kasr sits within the beautiful gated community of Sahl Hasheesh, and overall we had a great stay. We visited in February 2026 and the weather was perfect. The hotel still feels like it’s in a soft‑opening phase, with the spa unfinished and some facilities being refined, but the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Tipping plays a big part in service levels, so bring small notes.
The pools were a highlight: all heated, never crowded, and the swim‑up rooms offered real privacy, though ours had some messy tile repairs. The beach is directly connected to the hotel with plenty of loungers and a bar on the sand.
Food was good, even for a picky eater, with the main restaurant plus several made‑to‑order snack bars, a café, juice bar, and doughnut station. Service, however, was inconsistent—sometimes excellent, sometimes nonexistent—and the language barrier could make simple requests harder than expected.
Our room was comfortable but the air‑con didn’t cool below 23°C despite reporting it, and the pillows were overly large. The mini‑fridge was restocked daily, which was a nice touch.
There’s no ATM on-site despite what Google says, so withdraw cash at the airport.
Despite a few teething issues, Al Kasr is a lovely, luxurious hotel with huge potential, and we’d happily recommend it for a relaxing getaway."
"Far From a Four-Star Experience
Let me be clear: this is not a four-star hotel. Our stay was a cascade of problems that management consistently failed to properly resolve.
It began with significant cleanliness issues in our first room. Despite assurances, the problem was never fixed, leading to a room change. This "upgraded" room, however, introduced a host of new plumbing disasters. The sink faucet's pressure was so intense it soaked our clothes and the counter, while the shower head was aimed at the back wall, flooding the floor due to a poorly-sealed glass partition.
After I took time out of my vacation to meet with the manager and explain the situation, I was promised everything would be fixed. We returned later to the smell of fresh caulk and a re-angled (but still not adjustable) shower head. The original leak was gone, but a new one had appeared. The shower's improper drainage pitch sent a stream of water along the glass ledge and right back onto the floor. Our only solution was to build a dam with our clean towels every time we showered.
The sink was never fixed by the hotel. I finally had to play DIY plumber, swapping the faucet tap with one from the shower to get a usable water flow. It's unbelievable that I had to fix it myself. We tried to make the best of our trip, but the constant frustration and unresolved issues made it clear: this is NOT a four-star hotel.
Needed this vacation to decompress. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE!!!!!"
