This is such a lovely retreat, all credit to manager Kelly and her family. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and it was much appreciated. The refurbished rooms were nice, clean and warm and the private shower was awesome. We had an awesome time and were lucky to see two kiwi on the grass near the bush even though it was raining, and we heard lots more. It was really magical!

A nice, well kept holiday home with friendly operators. Very short drive from Russell so convenient if you have transport. Clean and nice.

New owners had just taken over 5 days before we arrived so will love to see how they put their mark on the place. Good facilities but have been unloved for a while so new owners will spruce things up and it’ll be a gem….we will come back again and in summer to enjoy the pool. Our room was good, had a great couple of nights sleep.

We had a very pleasant stay at the holiday park. It's in a lovely location where you can walk around in the bush or by mangroves across the road. It was easy to drive into the main area in Russell and beaches nearby approx. 5-10 min by car. We made use of the kitchen facilities in the cabin also.

Uniqueness starts with being able to see Kiwi in their natural habitat! Each night they come out as well as an abundance of bird life, 55 types! Cabins have nice privacy and balconies. Big fridge in our 2 bedroom cabin, plenty of space and a comfy couch too! Pool has been just upgraded so brand new! Toy outdoor corner that kids loved! As it’s not the top ten holiday park type, it’s the quiet, nature and wildlife, beautiful mangrove and bush trails all walking distance! Main reception sell torches so you can watch kiwi come out and give good advice if you need help! Bring your badminton set, bring a ball, bring a bike or hover board and race around the big ground space!

So much potential just not there yet…

So much potential but just not there yet. It’s a stunning location and could be an amazing park. But currently dilapidated, untidy and needs some tlc. We had a standard cabin for a night, no smoke alarm as front had come off, kitchen shared area was to be desired. Woken up by a couple of cockroaches on wall above bed despite not leaving food out so I slept in the car. Again the park has a perfect location and idea with eco sustainability and wildlife awareness but just a little more attention to accommodation and communal facilities is needed.

Lovely people into the environment big time. The bed was comfortable but there were no blankets, sheets at extra cost, no bedside table, no lamp, and no hot water in the shower.

This property is in a great area however, unfortunately needs a huge renovation. Rooms had no hot water, TV did not work and amenities like washer and dryer and pool were all broken down. The room had cockroaches on the wall and bed was broken. Management tried their best to accommodate guests given the circumstances and were friendly though the property needs major investment to continue.
