Amazing American styled hotel with great sea views and quirky 50s USA styling. Diner below, nicely cooked US classics , dogs, burgers etc, Fab breakfast too !!

Amazing Cadillac Hotel

A misunderstanding became apparent on arrival. I had understood that dinner and breakfast was available. I was informed that this was early season (12th May) and the kitchen was closed. The hosts directed me to Rothesay town centre, 1.7miles away, where food was available, this turned out to be very good indeed.

A must stay.

Great stay. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. Loved the decor. Breakfast was great, pancakes with fry up a must. Dinner was diner food to go with the ambience. Owner and his son were great and nothing was too much trouble. Everybody that drives past stops to look at the cars including the sightseeing tour bus.

Nice quiet location, not far from Rothesay. Run by Brodie, an interesting American/Scottish man into vintage cars. Ate in diner a couple of times - menu of burgers, hot dogs and burritos. Breakfast also had US slant. Nice room with a bath (always a plus in my book!). Downside was that it was a little isolated from other facilities. If want to eat and drink in Rothesay you need to bus it or walk 1.7 miles.

Beyond quirky

Unique hotel experience!! Who would have thought to bring a brilliant take on Americana culture to The Isle of Bute!! Very imaginatively curated, beyond quirky. Clean and comfortable room. Unfortunately they seemed very short staffed during our stay. They could perhaps do with importing a bit of the American service ethos to improve the customer experience. Have a nice day y’all!

Unusual but great.

Amazing decor, wackiest we've ever seen in a hotel. The Cadillac theme runs throughout the hotel, a lot of thought has gone into the presentation.

Cadillac Kustomz is a unique hotel with quirky design and loads of character. The rooms are individually styled, with all the necessary facilities, and are spotlessly clean. There is a diner restaurant and a bar on the premises, but we didn't get a chance to try them. The hotel is located quite a distance out from Rothesay, in Ardbeg, but it is a pleasant half hour walk along the waterfront, weather-permitting

One night stay

Had the potential to be a boutique hotel but the building is in need of repair. The bar which was closed is in actual disrepair and smells of dampness. The bed took up most of the bed room and had very dim lighting. Food at night in the diner was disappointing but not as bad as the ridiculous portion at breakfast, one mushroom and a tiny rasher of crispy bacon with scrambled egg. Friendly owner but was always apologising for everything and noticeably on checkout.

Very odd check in. Arrived at 2.50 for 3pm check in. The lady owner was just getting in her car when I explained we were booked in for two nights she just said check in is at 3 and drove off at that point a man opened the doors and again I explained we were booked in for two nights He said yes you haven’t booked breakfast I said that’s ok he then gave us a key and told us the bar and music room was closed as it was out of season That’s the last we see of them they obviously didn’t want to talk to us. On check out we just left the keys in the hallway and left. We found it very odd had we known it wasn’t fully open we would not have booked.

Avoid and go elsewhere

Horrible experience, inebriated owner continues with excessively loud karaoke into the night. Rooms have no soundproofing, so if you want to sleep before midnight, forget it. After asking around he is notorious on the island. After requesting the volume turned down being ignored, we had to leave and found a quiet hotel. He was not fussed at all on our departure, indicating his preference to drink and sing like a strangled cat into the early hours. No refund or further contact, complete bell.

Très confortable !

Mis à part un accueil expéditif, l'hôtel est très bien, les chambres sont propres avec de quoi faire du thè, café ou chocolat chaud, et desTunnocks teacakes! Le lit est très grand et très confortable. Salle de bain propre avec savon, shampooing, serviette et peignoir à disposition. Petite déception car le bar était fermé à notre retour de balade à 20:30; lors de notre dernier séjour dans cette hotel nous avions pû boire quelques verres dans le bar très bien décoré en compagnie du propriétaire qui avait été fort sympathique.
