Ok værelser, men.....

Placering af hotel var fantastisk - midt i det hele. Servicen var også rigtig god Værelserne var fine og der var ingen gadestøj. Men det er ekstremt lydt i bygningen. Overboen startede et “maratonløb” hver morgen før 7.00 og herefter kunne man høre alle værelser vågne op. Man kan høre alt hvad de andre naboer foretager sig og taler om - når de går i bad m.m Receptionen er ikke bemandet og der er morgenmad på en bar / restauranten i nærheden

Borgofico is a very small hotel, very centrally situated. I’ve stayed there twice now because Martina looks after you and makes you very welcome. Nothing is a problem and she is happy to help you with directions and local information. Don’t look for lots of room service and amenities that you would get in a big hotel. But here the rooms are spacious, very comfortable and quiet and the position there is fabulous. You are within walking distance to many of the best sites, or else there are bus stops right near Piazza Navona. The little streets all around there are beautiful, full of good restaurants and great shopping. I loved being near Piazza Navona. It is gorgeous, especially in the evenings when you see the buskers and artists and everyone coming out to get something to eat. Loved it!

Don't stay here!

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I am not someone who complains or is high maintenance about hotels, but this was BAD. The room itself was fine— but here’s what happened: We had a room booked here for just one night before flying home. We needed a late check in as we were coming from Sorrento and check in ended at 7 pm. Our taxi driver gave us our keys and walked us to our room. The hotel, which is on the 3rd floor of some residential apartments, was completely empty. We thought it was weird, but the room was fine. We went to dinner and out for our last evening in Rome. When we got back, a bit after midnight, the stairwells leading up to the hotel were completely black. We used our phones to be able to find the door. The hotel itself was completely dark, too. Power was out. Nothing worked. No one was there to help us. There was an emergency phone # left on the counter. I called it and messaged it multiple times, the call was declined every time. Note, this was end of June, massive heat wave in Rome, no A/C working, dripping sweat in the dark in this hotel. Then, huge, ear-splitting alarms started going off throughout the hotel. I was trying to call other hotels at this point to find somewhere we could stay and the alarms were so loud I could not even talk on the phone. It is now 1 am, my husband’s flight was at 6 am in the morning, we couldn’t possibly stay where we were...long, awful story short, we wandered the streets,,,for whole review see Tripadvisor

Spacious room with lots of modern additions in the fancy bathroom, make sure you get shown how to work everything when you check-in though as it’s pretty unclear. Location is good for exploring Rome, however, it’s above a bar which plays out until 2am so sleeping is difficult, there is soundproof windows but they don’t block out the vibrations. The team here do their best to make you feel at home and welcome, however, the very modest spa (a hot tub and a sauna) is NOT included in your room price. This makes zero sense, why is it there if not for your guests? So we got lumped with a bill on checkout which was unexpected - if we’d known this would happen we’d of probably stayed at a bigger hotel which includes all it’s amenities. Speaking of amenities, the coffee and tea makers were in the reception rather than having your own in your room, and there’s no milk available. The breakfast is supplied by a nice restaurant over the road, so it’s not in house, but it is very nice. The maids just tidy your room and make your bed also, we had to request to have the sheets CHANGED. A little lazy.

Cozy!

The hotel is a small boutique style situated in a neighborhood. We arrived late in the evening and they arranged a driver for us who had our room keys. The room was very small but clean and updated nicely. The walls were thin so we heard all the conversations next door. There are restaurants, nightlife, and major transportation nearby. If you are up for walking to can get to all tourist locations within 30 minutes. There are no elevators, so please keep that in mind if you have a health condition. I would like to view this place more so of as a Air BNB, because it does lack what typical hotels provide. We only slept here and we are not hard to please so it was perfect for us.
