Has fast food restaurants everywhere. Ingles grocery store close to property. Silver Comet trail entry 1.2 miles away. E- bike rentals available by start of Comet trail. Off the busy road away from highway.

It Has a Bed

The whole floor smells like smoke. The smoke detector had been taken down in our room (either by a previous resident or by the hotel; unsure) and had not been put back up. The plumbing clogged and we couldn’t initially find a plunger. We tried to call for help during the night while the lobby was closed and couldn’t reach anyway. I guess if you get locked out of your room after 10pm, you just figure it out? The mattress is hard as a rock and we got three thin pillows for two people. The guy who checked us in was very nice!!!

This place is a bit old and run down, but a convenient place to stay if biking the Silver Comet rail trail, which was the context for my stay. It’s about one mile off the trail and friendly toward bikers (seems they try to reserve the first floor rooms for bikers). The guy managing the hotel was very friendly and there seemed to be a continual congregation of regulars hanging out with him in the lobby, talking and watching the TV there. This gave the place more personality than the typical roadside budget hotel and lead to me ordering a pizza to eat in the lobby rather than venturing out for a post-ride dinner.

The staff was friendly and answered any questions I may have had and anything I needed was available as long as it was during the time they were there which you can get in touch with him through a phone, but they basically stopped working at the desk between nine and 10 that was no big deal for me I really didn’t like the cleanliness of the bathrooms and stuff like that. I was dirty had pee on it, but when staff took care of it.

It’s a good experience for the money. The bed was comfy, the room was spacious and the breakfast was good, although I didn’t see any decaf coffee or protein (bacon, sausage). They had waffles, cereal, pastries, bread, bagels, OJ, whole milk, jellies, peanut butter, cream cheese, and the like. The room mini-fridge was plenty cold when I checked in. If you’re looking for the Ritz, don’t stay here. It’s a modest property and I was happy with it. If you avoid stairs, request a 1st floor room because there is no elevator. Location is convenient to casual dining and fast food. There’s a nice new liquor store next door. The best thing is the staff. Nice, friendly folks who make you feel welcome.

Room was fine. The hallway in the non smoking section of the hotel reeked of cigarette smoke! The phone in the room didn't work. The water pressure was non existent! The TV worked after fooling with it for 30 minutes? Staff friendly. Not an expensive stay & now know why.
