Yearly stop on the way to Nags Head
We try to stop here every year on the way to Nags Head. It is a convenient location with a lot to do close by. They property is very lovely with a small pool and nice gardens. It is close to restaurants and has a good restaurant on property. They rooms are average size and getting to be a bit dated. But it is a good price with a comfortable bed. We leave very early on a Saturday morning and it is easy access to the highway
Booked a room that was supposed to have 2 full beds for 4 people. Got there and it was a queen sized bed. Of course they didn't have a room to accommodate us so we left.
Amazing location, very comfortable, clean, and reasonably priced. Cable was out when I visited but they comped me with breakfast each morning. Great compromise especially since I typically don't watch TV when traveling. I would stay there again if I was in the area.
Overall, great one-night stay as we were traveling through the area. They had an A/C issue with our first room, but, eventually, they transferred us to another room with working A/C. Once there, I had no complaints about the place.

The First Time was the Charm
This was our second time at the property. We loved the venue and the experience the first time. The second time lost a little luster. The property was much busier with numerous events going (weddings, graduations, reunions, etc). Also, the TV system was out the entire stay. The latter was a first for a major hotel chain. A nice property comparative to usual hotel accommodations, but we might consider options the next time we visit the area.

Fine for a one night stay.
Tv did not work and bathroom could have been cleaner. The gym had no air conditioning or towels and was very hot. Breakfast stopped being served at 10, which was a bit early. We were there for one night as a pit stop traveling further south. It was fine for what it was. We would have been very disappointed if we were there for longer.
Nice hotel with nice bar/lounge. But had to call the front desk twice due to slamming doors and someone running in the hallway after 11 pm. Did not expect to have problems with noise in such a nice hotel. Staff took care problem after the second call. This would be a nice hotel for golfers.
Joel was the front desk attendant and was fantastic. The grounds are gorgeous and after staying here every year for the last 5, we have never had any issues. Worth every penny!
Very nice surprise! The property is located in a very upscale golf community of homes & we felt safe & it had a resort feel. Would highly recommend & will stay there, the price also was very good! All in all a great trip.

Guest review
Our room, 144, was in an undesirable location. This is why I rated condition as 3.
Beautiful hotel, love the staff, love the style and elegance of the place. The room was small but very comfortable. The bar and patio area was great, loved sitting out by the fire pit.
I wanted a hotel convenient to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and this looked good online. Wyndham VC had a room at a fabulous rate and so I booked it and didn't really think much more about it. When we arrived, we were blown away! What an amazing place - over 20 acres of relaxation away from highways and shopping centers with the feel of an exclusive country club. Excellent food in both the tavern and the restaurant.
The story of Mr. Figgie's Corporate Retreat is fascinating and the buildings are decorated to make you feel as if you stepped back into a more gracious time and place. Loved the underground tunnels connecting the buildings and the covered walkways.
It was good. I was shocked that there were several buildings that were all part of the same hotel. I liked that we were able to go from one building to another without going outside. The walk was educational with the pictures along the way.
We had so much fun during our 1 night stay here. We needed to find a place for stay for the night while it was 6 degrees during a hurricane last season. We stumbled upon this hotel and we were defiantly impressed. Very comfortable rooms & beds. Staff was pleasant. Will stay here again in future!

parking was a problem, wheel chair access was terrible, I was told only one wheel chair available in your location.....seemed to walk forever to get to desk.....very disappointed in service, did not care about the parking or wheel chair situation....we are in our 80-90, walking to get to the desk and then our room was very overwhelming....
