  • The smaller of the two lagoons. I saw this one first and it was amazing. It was off to feel like your driving in the middle of no where and then, boom, amazing glacier lagoon! Lol. I couldn't decide which boat tour to do so I chose to do both (at each lagoon). For the tour I actually liked this one better. Cozier, the guide seemed more knowledgeable, and the mountain backdrop was better. Definitely go hang out at the other lagoon on the beach, but I'd vote do the tour at this lagoon. Love the reflections!!! This was approx 3pm in June. O and I don't recommend if you want to try both tours to do them back to back. The lagoons are only 10km/10min from each other, but this tour went over for me so I missed the other one and had to reschedule it for the morning. Good thing I was staying nearby. #waterlust

We stayed in one of their new cabins and it was well above my expectations. Super clean and warm room, friendly staff and the food from the restaurant was amazing as well. Area is super quiet and can give you a good view of the northern lights if they are out. Would stay here again.

Delightful seaside place

Comfy bed & pillows~. Superb dinner w roasted lamb, potatoes and the oven baked cod char meals, rhubarb crumble dessert, wine, and the Einstök White Ale.

The location was great. Staff was very nice as well. The log cabins were very homely. They were a bit small but that was fine. Only minor feedback I would give is that the basin was very small which made it hard to use.

Close to Vatnajökull Park so very handy if staying in the area. I had a free upgrade to a cabin, which was superb. The other cabins looked ok from the outside. The hotel is quite near the sea, so a short walk will bring you to it. Warning there is no TV. They did internet but my cabin 13 couldn’t get it, although my own WiFi worked

Cabins were beautifully done. It is small, but has everything we need. Showers feel very nice and hot. Cabins were located at the very end of the resort, located next to the farm with lots of sheeps. Homes were very clean, and has everything we need. Highly recommend it, we had an amazing stay :)

Good hotel for a short stay

While the room was small considering the price (paid about 450US$ a night) it was clean and has comfortable rooms. Great location. The staff was welcoming and helpful.

Nice simple room in a beautiful location. Breakfast and dinner were a little chaotic due to multiple large buses with tour groups that were staying there too. Dinner was our favorite. The female server took excellent care of us even though she was very busy. The quality of the food was great. I got the roasted lamb with potatoes and my girlfriend got the oven baked cod char. We also got a side of delicious bread.

This was right on route 1 near Diamond Beach, 15 min away. We were there with 4 adults and there was an extra bed in the room so we used it to store our bags. There was a lounge area on the 1 and 2nd floor so if you were with group of friends, you can hang out there. Breakfast was not included but their food was great. Not many restaurants near by so we enjoyed their dinner and breakfast.

We stayed one night in one of the new deluxe cabins. It has a mountain view in the back and ocean view in the front, although our cabin’s view was partially obstructed by a building and cars parked. It was still nice and peaceful. The cabin itself is nice. It has a small kitchenette with a kettle, microwave and some dishes. We particularly enjoyed the heated bathroom floor. The location is great for exploring the Glacier lagoon and Diamond beach.

Despite Icelanders being more of the cold side - they were friendly here and accommodating. Room just have what you need for a night and two . Very closed to the glacier . I love having breakfast there our last day with the view.

Guesthouse Gerdi was wonderful. You have the ocean on one side, mountains and mountain views on multiple sides, beautiful horses near the property. The hotel itself is cozy, clean, and comfortable. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant and the food was delicious. Magical place!
