Pablo is a gracious host and went the extra mile.to accommodate our needs. The Hostal is new, clean and very comfortable. Chocolate and bottled water in the room to welcome us was wonderful. Having the option of enjoying coffee and tea at any time was also great.
Great location, super host and all the amenities required for a comfortable stay.
We were looking for a relaxed and cosy Hotel in Punta Arenas and found the perfect place in the Hostal Puerta Roja. In fact, the hostal is a beautiful haven and perfect starting point for everyone interested in exploring the Magellan strait. The city centre is close by and all the major bus stations are within 10 minutes reach. There are supermarkets if you want to prepare your own meals in the communal kitchen or bars and restaurants to try the excellent seafood of the region. The spacious rooms are flawless with an eye for detail that make you feel at home. We were greeted with little Chocolate sweets from the best Café in town, „La Chocolatta“. The interior of the hostel is warm, bright and welcoming. Especially the living room is a wonderful open space with a view onto the lovely terrace and rose garden and a dining table that invites guests to dwell and share their stories. Truly the place is shaped by the spirit of its owner. Pablo has been such a lovely, considerate and generous host. He helped us out on numerous occasions, with the booking of the Penguin tour to Magdalena Island or other inquiries concerning our trip. The unique atmosphere of the Hostal and the kindness of its owner were one of the highlights of our trip to Patagonia. We highly recommend it!
