This vacation home offers a serene escape on a private beach. Providing access to crystal-clear waters, it is ideal for paddle boarding and waterfront relaxation. Secluded and serene, it’s the perfect retreat for those seeking peace and natural beauty.
Our second time staying here…..it’s home away from home, and truly one of our most favourite places to be!Always clean and comfortable, and a short drive to any needed amenities……..but once there, who wants to leave?!
Fell in love right from the moment we walked in. House was very cozy and welcoming. The view is incredible and having the dock there is a huge bonus. We can’t wait to book our next stay there!
Great location near Balfour and Nelson. Usage of the dock was key for our boat. The property was very comfortable and well appointed. Parking was a little tight, but manageable. Thanks, we loved the location and views on Kootenay Lake.
Amazing Upscale Cabin Right on the Beach! Best VRBO!
Awesome stay from checkin to checkout. Perhaps the best VRBO we have stayed in. Very clean, upscale with lots of great art and quality comfortable furniture. The living room, kitchen and master bedroom are surrounded by windows and french doors with incredible views of the lake. The huge wrap around deck has the same. Very private and quiet with your own dock to relax on or park the boat. Cant say enough about this fantastic retreat and the host Ted always available and helpful. I give Teds place my highest recommendation to anyone I know and we will certainly be back!

Beautiful home on Kootenay Lake
We had a bit of a snafu with our reservation but once we were able to connect with the owner everything worked out and we were able to have a great stay. Ted is a gracious and wonderful host. His family home is beautifully designed and comfortable. The views are gorgeous and they truly have a piece of paradise there in Procter, BC. We look forward to coming back in the warmer months to enjoy the lake. I highly recommend this place for a family or friend’s vacation.
Absolutely stunning view. The ferry staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. And our hosts were quick to respond to inquiries and ensured an easy check in process with helpful instructions on house amenities. We had to go buy our own can opener and there was issue with stink bugs around the house & in our beds. So we had to re wash bedding but other than
We had a great time with our young family at this cabin on Kootenay Lake! The interior is bigger than it looks in the pictures and provided lots of space for the 6 of us to sleep and spread out. The deck is massive providing tons of outdoor living space and a great view of the regularly passing ferries (not at all disruptive), and the mostly rock beach had just enough sand for hours of entertainment throwing rocks and building sandcastles. Don't forget to check out the cinnamon buns at the bakery in Proctor. Looking forward to returning to Kootenay lake in future summers!
We really loved this spot on Kootenay lake! It was quiet, private and perfect for our annual family vacation. Awesome private beach for the kids with a great dock for jumping off. The ferry does go by every 30-40 mins but it’s quiet and becomes part of the scenery. The cabin was bright, clean and spacious. We so appreciate pet friendly homes and we were able to bring our dog who enjoyed endless days of swimming.
Ted was a fantastic host - very communicative and quick with responses. We really enjoyed our time at Kootenay lake this summer! Highly recommend!
We had a great weekend at Ted and Heather's beautiful lake side retreat.
The photos don't do this home justice, it is even better in person. Cozy and spacious living room with a fabulous wood burning fireplace that kept us toasty all weekend, heated floors, so many option for sitting and dining, big deck with the best views and the icing on the cake was the most amazing soaker bathtub ever that every member of our family tried! We are big into baths and that was a really special bonus that I didn't even note when booking the home. The set up of primary on the main floor with a perfect sized two queen upstairs room was so ideal for our teenaged kids. We love visiting Kootenay Lake and this will be one to come back to for sure. Thanks for the wonderful stay!
We loved our stay at this location, despite a very rainy weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed just sitting on the patio looking over the water, and watching the ferry go by. There is a large Japanese soaking tub that fills shockingly quickly, and water that stays warm while filling the large tub. A beautiful view, and we managed to squeeze in a campfire and some swimming on the last day.Important notes: there is a train that goes by the property everyday twice a day, that has to honk at the intersection. Can be quite scary at first, but you get used to it.Upon our arrival there were a lot of spiders within the property, which can’t really be avoided with a more remote location, but one of us has arachnophobia, and struggled a bit to get comfortable. The property is shared, with two vacation rentals on the same lot. We didn’t have anyone else on the property during our weekend, but may be important for other renters to know during busier weekends Overall though, we really loved our time and are already thinking of when we would like to return!
Great location, friendly hosts, and loads of character in this amazing cabin. It was the perfect winter getaway with easy access to Nelson and area activities. We will surely be back!
This is a very nice property, well equipped with everything you would need.nicley decorated and comfortable.love the view from the large patio.we would defiantly stay here again.
Enjoy this place so much. This is the third summer we have come.
