Casa Alvor - Rooftop Jacuzzi with Sea Views
## Space
Casa Alvor is a three-level villa of 180m² set in a quiet residential street in the heart of Alvor village, with the beach, the marina, and the village square all within five minutes on foot. It sleeps 10 adults, or up to 14 when travelling with children.
The main entry level is the heart of the home. The living room is light-filled, with a fireplace, air conditioning, and a full three-metre sliding door that opens directly toward the Atlantic — the ocean views from here, and from the kitchen alongside, are wide and open. In the evenings, the light over the water turns the horizon into something close to a painting. A balcony with a small table and chairs leads down to the private garden via steps. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a dining table alongside. Two bedrooms are also on this floor: both have a double bed made up from two single beds, which can be separated on request, and their own air conditioning. A bathroom with shower and toilet serves this floor.
Head downstairs to the lower level. A generous games room houses a full-size pool table, a sofa bed tucked behind a curtain, and two single beds (90×200cm) in a windowless inner area — the whole space works equally well as a games room by day and sleeping quarters by night, and suits older children or teenagers well. There is also a third bedroom here with two single beds and its own air conditioning, a second bathroom with shower and toilet, and a washing machine. A door on this level connects directly to the garden, where you will find sun loungers, a dining table, and a BBQ on the lawn.
The top floor is a self-contained apartment with its own entrance from the main hallway. A living area with a sofa, air conditioning, Smart TV, a compact kitchen, and a sofa bed sits alongside the fourth bedroom, which has a double bed (two singles) and air conditioning. A bathroom with shower and toilet and a second washing machine complete this level.
Step through the door onto the roof terrace: a jacuzzi, a BBQ, sun loungers, and a dining table, with sea views across the rooftops all the way to the Atlantic.
That view, at sunset, is the reason people come back.

## Neighborhood
Alvor is one of those Algarve villages that still feels like itself. The old centre, a short walk from the apartment, has a square lined with restaurants and bars, a weekly market, local shops, and a church
that has been here since the 16th century. Praia de Alvor is a 5 minutes walk from the house.
The beach is 3,2 km long and the west side of the beach is backed by ochre-coloured sandstone cliffs looking out over the atlantic. You walk the beach all the way to the east side you will come to the pier that divides Alvor and Lagos. I’n between there is a long beach with several nice and cozy restaurants runned by local families. Best of all, its refreshingly uncrowded and family-friendly beach Praia de Alvor has room for everyone, even in the height of summer. You never have to rush out early in the morning to scout for your own little patch of sand.
The traditional white-washed houses and winding cobbled streets encourage leisurely strolls that lead you to the palm tree-lined riverfront Largo da Ribeira. The little town is full of sensational seafood but If seafood is not your taste, there are plenty of other options to choose from – Traditional portuguese, Italian, Indian, Mexican, Japanese among other food. There is also some really nice pubs and plenty of cafés.
Things to do in the area:
The Beach, Boattrips, Winetasting at local vineyards, Zoo-marine park, Caves, Waterslide park, Sightseeing, Bicycling, Hiking, Autodromo, Castle, Shopping and more…
Fill your beach day with what suites you, if you seek adventure with water sports like kayaking, kitesurfing, jet skiing, and windsurfing or sink into your sun lounger with a book. If you decide to walk the beach east towards Praia dos Três Irmãos, you’ll be met by dramatic caves and grottoes and from there you can do an adventures hike all the way to Portimao.
Daytrips
Alvor also offers plenty of guided boat trips. Early-risers can take advantage of the morning fishing trips, and romance-seekers can set off on a sunset voyage. A highlight for families is a two- and half-
hour trip to the picturesque, bucket-list-worthy Benagil Cave.
Vinetasting, there are plenty of vineyards around Alvor if you’d like to deepen your knowledge of the world of wine while enjoying some excellent locally produced wines in beautiful surroundings. The market town of Silves and its Moorish castle is around 30 minutes east by car.
Sagres and the dramatic cliffs of Cabo de São Vicente, the south-westernmost point of mainland Europe, are about 45 minutes west.
Other family day-out ideas include a visit to the Zoo-marine park which offers a whole range of activities from amusements to zoological presentations with dolphins and tropical birds. It’s only 30 minutes away. Also nearby is the Zoo de Lagos, which not only has about 150 different animal species but also animal feedings, penguin beaches, and a lot more fun activities. You can easily spend a whole day here.
The big Slide Ramp; Splash Waterslide park and the Sand City is about 20min west by car. The area around Alvor is popular for cycling and bike rental is available on a street nearby.
Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is 16 km from the property, while Algarve Shopping Centre is 35 km away. Portimão and its marina are around 8 minutes by car. Lagos, with its old town, beaches, and wider restaurant scene, is around 20 minutes by car.
## Transit
A car is useful for day trips around the wider Algarve, but for daily life in Alvor you will rarely need it. The beach, marina, and village centre are all within walking distance. Portimão has a train station on the Algarve line, around 10 minutes by car. Faro Airport is approximately 55 minutes by car.
