Very cute and small little cabin with the basics. Incredibly walkable to downtown! The port Austin Farmers market was awesome and the Inn and restaurant across the street played live music at night. Clean room and friendly Staff!

Cottage was very clean and the staff pleasant. We were able to walk to town, which had many restaurants and walking past to the harbor. Highly recommend this place.

Clean and Cozy

Check-in is always super quick, we’ve stayed here a few times and will definitely be back. The rooms are nice and cozy and very clean ! I love that there’s hot water for showers. We’ve used the pool in the past and it’s very clean as well.

My husband and I found the Blue Spruce Motel to be perfect for our long weekend stay in Port Austin. Easy walking distance to everything in town, and to the beach. Our room was clean, there was not a single thing to complain about. Pool was clean…we did not jump in but we did sit a while with our feet in, relaxing.

A great spot for an overnight visit to Port Austin. I was more than impressed by how clean everything was. The internet, however, did not work for us. I wasted lots of time trying to get on and work with it and ended up getting much better service with my phone's hotspot.

This was our second year staying here and we absolutely enjoyed it again this year. Everything is nice and clean, walkable to downtown and other stores, nice heated pool and big outdoor space with fire pit, grills and picnic tables to use. We will be back!

Nice clean motel

The room was clean, had a lot of space, mini fridge, table and chairs. I had a second floor room, there were chairs and a table outside for use.

This property was about the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed at!!! It was immaculate!!! We had a cozy little cabin and it was so cute!!! Outdoor pool was heated and even on a 70 degrees day it was comfortable and relaxing!! Cute decor throughout the place and pool area!! Definitely will stay here again!!

It was a short walking distance to eating places and shopping area. Cottage room was cozy, quiet and enough space for what we needed. For our cottage, the air conditioning system worked and kept the room cool. However, when in AC mode, the AC unit would be loud. It was expected fan noise when using fan mode. The noise was OK during the day as we were out most of the day. However, it was too loud for sleep purposes. Would suggest replacing the AC unit (cottage #23). Also, the TV worked but navigating the cable channels was not clear. Would suggest providing instructions as to what is available and how to navigate the channels. Again, we were out most the day, so it was not a big issue.

Would have liked to stay on the lake, but it wasn't in our budget and Blue Spruce was located within walking distance of all the places we wanted to go to. It's not super fancy by any means, but it gets the job done. The AC window unit blew cold air all night and wasn't too noisy. Mini fridge kept our drinks cold. The bathroom was clean. Front desk help was very friendly & helpful.

The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. The staff was friendly. It was before Memorial Day, so the operation matched the expected occupancy. The only negative is at night the appliances' lights added a glow in the room and you could not shut the blinds enough to block all of the outdoor lighting. The operation times of the restaurants and other retail stores also reflected the off season. This is not a critique, it is just something to be aware of. It was an enjoyable stay.

A Pleasant Surprise

My wife and I stayed in one of their cabins for one night. It took a bit to get used to how different the layout was from a regular hotel room. It was very small, and at first felt thrown together - the hot water heater against the wall was one of the first things we saw. But the cabin was very clean and comfortable. There was a small living room with an TV, an older reclining love seat and a table and chairs, a separate bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was a little cramped, but, again, very clean. The shower was good sized and worked well. A mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker were all clean and worked well. Each cabin had a couple chairs out front. Since the grounds, and cabins were well kept and the weather was mild, sitting outside in the evening and morning gave it a very pleasant up-north cabin feel. There were picnic tables and a grill in the common area. The pool, which we did not get the chance to use, was clean and well maintained. The check in and check out process were very quick and easy. The only issue we had was knowing where to have breakfast (we suggest the Lake St. Emporium a couple blocks away). Check in is a bit later than usual (4pm) and check out was a bit earlier (10am), but that wasn’t a problem on this trip. We would definitely stay again.
