Great location. Nice to be able to use a well appointed kitchen. I wish when I booked it was more clear that I would need to contact the owner prior to my arrival so that he could let us in. My under was that we could check in anytime after 2:00. Also, we found the wifi to be slow.

The man was quite rude when I received access to the property, as I had booked it at 11:30 at night and although it says 24hr reception, no one was there when I arrived and I was locked out. He has to drive there to meet you which is not explained on the booking app, but it says to check in before midnight, which I had arrived to the property a few minutes after booking and waited a while. Once I got in, I used the shared bathroom which was not at all clean, took a shower which didn’t drain the water and because it’s a standing shower, I had to make it quick as the gross water was about to overflow onto the washroom floor. The towel I used to dry myself was stained and then I had to use it to soak up all the nasty shower water that was pooled up in the bottom of the shower… so I definitely did not feel clean after that. The nice thing is that it is fairly central and close enough to things that make it super walkable. You do receive a key to lock your bedroom door, which is a plus as well.

So lovely! Once the manager let us in, everything was smooth and we had a wonderful large room with windows from floor to ceiling across 3 walls! Wonderful stay, would stay again.

Seemed a bit expensive for what was offered (no breakfast/cafe da manha) but accomodation was extremely tight on Sao Miguel Island vs. Faial Island. A bit of traffic in the st. but I still slept well.

No front desk, bathroom was detached from the room even if it was a "private bathroom" we had to cross the hallway, there was no soap in the bathroom, the door of the shower was broken. Pretty noisy place. Fridge was disgusting. Pretty difficult to find parking on street but is a walkable distance to bars and restaurants. I would call it more a overpriced hostel.

HORRIBLE! There was No answer when we arrived to the property. Rang the doorbell and called multiple times. We have never been to Azores before and this made our stay extremely stressful. We ended up getting delayed from our flight and the airport. We arrived at night in a town we didn’t know and no one to help us except people on the street recommending different places to stay. I would never recommend this place to anyone! There’s beautiful hotels all around that I would stay at if we were to ever go back to Azores. This hotel has horrible customer service and I’m extremely disappointed by the lack of hospitality.

Central Guesthouse messaged me about a week to 10 days before our stay asking me when we would be checking in, and as it was a little late (9:30pm) they gave us instructions on how to let ourselves in. When we arrived later than anticipated we let ourselves in, no problem. But much to our surprise, the room was used - the throw pillows were on the floor, the sheets used, and towels strewn on the bathroom floor. I messaged the property and someone came promptly. Apparently the guests before us had checked out VERY late and the room had not been turned over. She asked for 15 minutes to clean the room. We parked our car (there’s a lot about a 5 minute walk away) and then waited downstairs. 15-20 minutes later our room was ready. The room has windows for walls and is on a busy street so you can definitely hear EVERYTHING happening outside. We’re heavy sleepers so it didn’t bother us much. You can also hear the other doors on the floor opening and closing. And we also had trouble with the shower not draining as others have mentioned. My partner is a rockstar and eventually got fed up and pulled out who knows what and then it drained better.

unhygienic and not well managed

dont stay here, unless you can’t afford anywhere else that’s a bit better! i found my room/bathroom to be quite unhygienic. the towels and the sheets had dirty spots, the shower and the bathroom sink looked like they had been cleaned with water only, there were hairs and remains of toothpaste, it was disgusting. they only gave us 2 toilet paper rolls for 4 days and only 3 towels. also, the mattress is old and sinks in the middle a lot, so it wasn’t very comfortable to sleep with 2 people in the bed. the kitchen doesn’t have a dishwasher and no one seems to try to keep the kitchen well cleaned. the guests have to wash their own dishes, which wouldn’t be a problem if everyone washed them well. you should expect to find dirty dishes/cups/etc. the manager of this property was not there when the check-in time began and we had to call him and wait for him to get there. overall he is not very warm and doesn’t make you feel comfortable to ask for anything (example: extra towels) there is no actual free parking provided by the guesthouse. however, parking is free in the guesthouse’s street if you can find a parking spot. although i didn’t mind as much, you should also expect to hear a lot of noise coming to the street as if the outside people are inside the place. wish i would’ve stayed somewhere else. great if you really just want something very cheap, but if you wish to relax and be comfortable, i would advise to not stay here.

Wij hadden deze accommodatie geboekt om één nachtje te overnachten voordat wij weer terugvlogen naar huis. Dit was prima, maar ik zou hier niet langer willen blijven. We hadden de kamer met gedeelde badkamer en deze was zeer schoon toen wij aankwamen. We deelden deze maar met één andere kamer. Het inchecken ging prima. Mr Luis nam snel de telefoon op en gaf de code van het sleutelkastje. De gedeelde ruimte was net en schoon. De kamer was ook prima. Er stonden koekjes en flesjes water voor ons klaar. De bedden waren prima. De kamer was wel gehorig. Je kon goed horen als iemand op de gang of in de kamers naast ons liep. En de accommodatie ligt aan een best drukke straat. Dus prima voor één nacht. We hebben ook weinig gebruik gemaakt van de faciliteiten, we gingen avondeten in de stad en 's morgens al vroeg de deur uit.

Buen sitio.

La experiencia ha sido buena en general, la ubicación esta bien, tiene parkings gratuitos, restaurantes y tiendas cerca. Durante la estancia no entran a limpiar. Cuando llegamos si estaba todo limpio, pero realmente limpias tú lo que ensucias en la cocina y demás porque es compartida. Ninguna queja, estaba todo bien.

Llegamos del viaje y la puerta está cerrada, no hay nadie para recibirte después de llegar de viaje que lo único que quieres es dejar las maletas, 1 hora en la puerta. Nada más nos abre finalmente el casero nuestra visión es de una cucaracha enorme la cual pisa delante nuestro y se ríe. Las instalaciones no es tan mal, necesitan una mejora en limpieza de baños, no había toallas, los 8 días con la misma toalla húmeda. La ducha no traiga agua y se encharcado todo. Falta menaje en la cocina pero bueno lo peor de todo fue el segundo día de estancia nos robaron toda la comida para la semana que teníamos en la nevera y en el armario de la cocina, escribes y llamas al casero y no obtienes ningún tipo de respuesta, una vergüenza.

Céntrico pero muy senzillo

Alojamiento céntrico. Habitación amplia pero con pocas comodidades (sin armario, caja fuerte, etc). La habitación olía mal a pesar de tener mucha ventilación. En 3 días no nos cambiaron ni las sábanas ni las toallas y tampoco proporcionaron papel higiénico!

Leider nicht ganz das, was wie erwartet haben. Das Haus ist extrem hellhörig - selbst über mehrere Stockwerke hört man (vor allem in der Nacht) ständig, wenn Leute nach Hause kommen oder früh abreisen. Die Straße vor dem Haus ist extrem befahren und sehr laut und die Fenster sind nicht schalldicht. Grundsätzlich also für jemanden, der einen tiefen Schlaf hat, kein Problem. Andernfalls würde ich die Unterkunft nicht empfehlen. Betten waren gemütlich und es war alles vorhanden, was man braucht - etwas abgenutzt, aber intakt. Das Bad hat leider sehr eigenartig gerochen und an der Decke war Schimmel zu erkennen. In der Dusche waren kleine schwarze Würmchen. Davon abgesehen schien alles relativ sauber. Lage ist super - alles zu Fuß in der Stadt erreichbar.

Per cominciare, stanza molto sporca: capelli dei precedenti ospiti nella doccia, lenzuola e asciugamani con macchie di dubbia provenienza, tappeti sporchi e maleodoranti. Tutte le volte che entravamo in stanza ci accoglieva una puzza insopportabile. Inoltre, stanza molto rumorosa: rumori provenienti sia dalla strada a tutte le ore (comprese le ore notturne) che dall'interno. Le pareti delle stanze non sono insonorizzate. Mancano le tapparelle o comunque delle tende oscuranti: la stanza è piena di finestre per cui se non ci si è già svegliati per colpa dei rumori, sicuramente ci si sveglierà al sorgere del sole. La prima notte non abbiamo chiuso occhio. Continuando, saponi e asciugacapelli inesistenti. Infine, pessimo rapporto qualità-prezzo: 86 euro a notte. Prezzo assolutamente eccessivo se si considerano le (dis)funzioni della struttura. Unica nota positiva del nostro soggiorno: la posizione molto comoda per visitare la città. Per il resto, struttura assolutamente da evitare.
