Very Good

The hotel is in a great location. The staff were very helpful and made sure we got a taxi for our early morning trip to the airport. We unfortunately got one of the attic rooms. It was very small and slanted because of the roof. Both my sister and I bumped our heads before getting used to the way the room slopes. We got a chance to look in other rooms and they were very spacious and beautiful. Also the second set of stairs is very steep! Hard to bring luggage up! Overall a very nice and convenient place to stay!
Great location. Some minor cosmetic issues with the unit itself but kept clean. Staff was attentive but have limited servicing hours. Responses may be delayed depending on when your questions are sent. One little negative is that there is no elevator. This is expected , however, as most locations in city center will not have elevators unless staying in a hotel. I planning on staying in units 8 or above, be prepared to walk up multiple flights of stairs with luggage.
The staff here were so incredibly nice and quick to respond to any questions or requests we had. We communicated via Whats ap (text) and that was convenient with the cell phone plan we purchased at the airport. There was no one at the concierge desk at this location but it didn’t matter with the convenience of texting when necessary. The facility is clean and the room was spacious and bright. The only negative were all the stairs to get to the upper floor for senior guests. Something to keep in mind if you are unable to climb up 2 flights of stairs with your luggage by yourself. The location is right in the city centre with lots of shops and restaurants all around. It is also close to the airport bus stop (5 min walk) and literally a 5 minute walk to the board walk/boats and all the restaurants along the water. The area was safe and definitely had all the cultural beauty surrounding it. We were just 5 mins away from where they had the beer fest/dj/welcome gates. Overall, great location, lovely place to stay, great staff and service.
Let’s get new towels, clean the chairs, update some furnishings (sofa sleeper) and new bedding! Also, we had the same breakfast options (meats and bread) five days in the row.
Room should have a fridge. Newer sheets, better pillows, new bed covers. Front door lock needs updating, difficult to open with keys provided in lock box.
Was there 7 nights shower never drained well had to turn water on and off every 15 seconds it was ridicules talk to manager never did anything about it , place is very old outdated, I’ll never stay there again that’s for sure.
Very clean, lovely decor and architecture, but basic amenities like shampoo/lotion or even coffee pods for the coffee maker not available. Full kitchen but no salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc. Room to improve!
Upon arrival we were told that there had been a kitchen disaster, though this didn’t really affect us. What was a disappointment was the one pager on termites which were present and we saw flying around, the shower that pooled water instead of draining and the rock hard pillows. All of these factors led to an uncomfortable stay and we regret booking this accommodation. We tried to ask for assistance with the drain and getting other pillows and it was not offered.

Just avoid.
While the location is KEY it stops there; as mentioned, terrible non consistent wifi, a bed sheet that was too small for the bed, stained rusty sheets that were also torn, musty towels; the BEST part about my room was the roof window, but you’re barely allowed to use it because of bugs (which is fair!); as mentioned, zero amenities and the stairs are incredibly deep and terrible to navigate. The kitchen is in need of deep repair and while there’s a fridge, it’s not clear whose food is whose.
For a “4 star hotel” I expected a hell of a lot more AND reception AND amenities; I considered checking out and staying elsewhere at a cost.
This is not a hotel. This is a regular building remodeled as individual rooms. There are no personal interactions with any human being, although the place is advertised at the Expedia website as having a front desk attended 24/7, which is plain false. Access into the building is obtained through a code provided via WhatsApp, meaning that you need a functional cell phone in the Azores (some European sim cards will not work here); the code provided opens a box where a key attached to a chain is used to open the street door. Stairs with no elevator will give you access to the room assigned to you: you will find the door open with the key in the inside lock. Again, this place provides nothing other than a bed under a roof, at a price similar or higher than the cost of a room at real hotels, with front desks and personal services just a block away. Never again.

No 24 hour Reception
This hotel specifically states it has a24/7 reception front desk, it does not. For our trip we required a hotel with 24/7 reception,
This was crucial for us as we were traveling with a small child.
However, upon arrival, we found that this was not the case. Nor was anyone available to meet us, as a result we had no information about our room.
A telephone reception operates 0930-0130 as stated on a poster on a table.
This clearly does not meet the advertised 24/7 front desk service. We decided not to stay and requested a refund, but the hotel refused several times claiming that it meant something else.
I would not recommend this hotel based on their failure to provide the services as advertised.
Definitely DO NOT recommend. The property is in a very bad condition, infested by termites and bugs. It badly needs renovation. I am really shocked how it falls under the 4 star hotel category in Google with an ‘Excellent’ 8.6 rating in Expedia. I have photos and videos of the termites/termite wings even after getting the room cleaned.
The bathroom window would not shut completely (it needs to be reinstalled and sealed properly) which made it worse and all the bugs kept coming in.
We requested for another room/building but there was no availability.
The only good thing about this place is the responsiveness of the staff, they were nice and polite. Hugo was amazing and very helpful, helped us get another room for one night when the situation was very bad. Expedia should downgrade the rating of this property.
First the bad:
Check-in is a hassle if you don’t have wifi or data. Expected to message them upon arrival for them to let you in. If you don’t have wifi you can’t easily message.
I had messaged asking if I can check in early. They said no, which was fine. I showed up right at 2, messaged them but no answer for 4min. I called and they finally came by (they aren’t at the apartments but a few minutes away).
Getting wifi to message and call for me who did not want to pay for data overseas was an issue.
Also, parking is an issue. You have to go a few streets over to find parking.
The good:
Clean property, spacious and beautiful rooms.
They had wine in the room for us and some water, which was really nice.
Chegamos a noite e não nos avisaram que deveríamos ligar para saber o número do quarto. A foto não tem qualquer relação com a acomodação. Estivemos lå por 13 noites e nunca vimos ninguém na recepção. A casa é velha e mal cuidada. A porta da geladeira caia toda hora: wifi intermitente, fraco, toalhas muito poídas e velhas, travesseiros horríveis . Tem escadas para chegar aos quartos. Apesar da boa localização não voltaremos mais!
