I had a top floor that overlooked the inn. Which was cool. I admire the view. In the room, it wasn't magnificent but soon as i clicked on the heat, i felt immediately cozy. Floors looked okay. No hangers in the closet tho. And my room had a lovely couch. Check in went easy. I'd might come again in mid spring.

Was able to book last minute for an excellent price. Although the carpet was heavily worn and the bathroom was dated, everything was clean! Walls and molding were recently painted. Beds and linens were clean and fresh. At the main office, they were knowledgeable about the area, and the recommendations were wonderful!

Room experience

The room that was assigned to me smelt like heavy smoke. My wife has asthma and she definitely couldn't stay in that. I went to the owner/manager and explained to him on the condition of the room and without hesitation, he changed my room to a newly remodeled room. Apparently all the rooms are being remodeled. My new room was completely new and possibly differs family who used it since the remodel. When we left my son forgot his Nintendo switch adapter and the owner was kindly enough to call and send a text stating that it was found. I would definitely stay again.

Normally we don’t mind a no-frills motel down the shore, it’s a place to stay close to the beach, but this was pretty bad. New floors, paint job, and IKEA comforters are really just lipstick on a pig. TV wouldn’t turn on despite our troubleshooting, windows were broken/didn’t close all the way and had no screens (we used a belt to rig it shut to avoid bugs entering!), bed frames had wheels and would roll on the smooth floor when you sat or lied down, weird/suspicious stains all over curtains, stove had been ripped out and kitchen torn apart, cracked tiles, rust stains in the shower and elsewhere, and unsealed holes in walls where paper towels were stuffed in. The room was generally clean. Decent proximity to the boardwalk which is what we wanted. Staff was friendly, so I feel bad leaving this review but I can’t help but feel ripped off. I know it’s Memorial Day weekend and our booking was last minute, but $200/night for this room was criminal. Pool wasn’t even open. Should have paid well under 100… bare bones bare minimum

Point Pleasant Inn

The rooms were large and spacious. Looked newly painted with new floors. I personally like carpeting and the rooms was wood laminate so stayed cold. The towels were gray not white so did not use them. They looked dirty although the room was clean. It had a stove sink microwave and refrig but no cups for water or soda. There was an issue checking in. The man checking us in was not very personable at all. He instead on payment, which I understand as I choose pay at hotel, but was notified by my bank at 9:45am that payment was already made, I did not check in until 5pm. After going back and forth with me getting annoyed and ready to leave and him just not hearing me and insisting, my husband came in and showed him the charge on my back. He decided to just pay it and we would take it up with Hotels.com. While I was calling them, he all of a sudden found the charge slip, it was indeed charged at 9:45am. Keep in mind that check in time was 1 pm and it was now 5pm. When I asked why it was charged at that time and not when I got there, he had no answer.

We were not looking for a 5 star, we were looking for clean, well kept and comfortable. Point pleasant Inn was none of these. The gentleman at the front desk was very unfriendly, a mumbled and would not engage or make eye contact. We registered and went to our ground floor room.The few towels left in the room for us were soiled and only one bath towel was provided. I returned to the front desk with the towels in hand and it took a bit for them to find clean unsoiled towels. There were no screens, and the front window had no lock so again we went to the front desk to complain and they returned with a new lock and installed it. The motel room beds had no box springs, the frame was metal rungs so the mattress sagged between the gaps, the blankets were soiled as well, the mini fridge/freezer was frozen over. There was a hole in the shower ceiling that had been stuffed with paper towels. We were unable to find a new hotel because we arrived after the allowed cancellation date. I’m not confident in using your service again. We were extremely disappointed in the hotel.

This property seemed like a crack motel. They would t supply 2 keys for the people in the room. There was blood stains all over the comforter and some brown stains on the other. The towels also were stained. The air conditioner on the wall was completely broken so they put a tiny one in the window that barely cooled the room. The other people staying at the hotel seemed to live there and were not very welcoming. The pool - the main reason we picked this hotel was closed. And they lied about the location to the boardwalk. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!!!
