Miners Cottage
About this space Cozy Private Cottage in a country setting. A retreat to recharge the soul. Two miles from Hwy 50. Ideal for 2 people, Queen bed, Quality linens and towels, Closet, bathroom with large shower. Mini fridge, Microwave. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa. WIFI. Smart Tv. Patio with the decorative pond and waterfall. 3 miles to historic Placerville and its unique shops. 6 miles from Coloma (Gold Discovery Park). Close to Wineries, Apple Hill, Christmas Trees, Rafting, Kayaking, 1 hour to Skiing. Guest access You are more than welcome to wander the property and enjoy. The horses (Gentry and Flash) keep the pasture mowed. The chickens in the orchard are entertaining. If you go into the pasture or orchard please close the gate to prevent the horses and chickens from escaping. A flock of wild Turkeys and quail wander through frequently, as well as deer. The walk down Beals Road (approximately 2 miles round trip) is an interesting walk. Our part-time dog has moved on with her owner. She shows up occasionally and promises lots of friendliness. The pond and waterfall brings a two fold enjoyment. Along with the serenity, the variety of birds that come to the pond can be very interesting. In the evening the gold finches and other "locals" come to get their baths. So if you are sitting by the pond around early evening you may be scolded by these birds, after all it is bath time. We have a smart TV. Tired of watching movies? Try our old time radio complete with old time radio shows, like the Green Hornet, Amos and Andy, Jack Benny. Check them out and enjoy your stay. Other things to note I am a 5th generation resident of El Dorado County. We will be more than happy to assist in answering any questions about the area. We have a restaurant guide available for the Placerville and Coloma/Lotus area. Two Wineries, Gold Hill (also a brewery) and David Girard Vineyards are within 4 miles of the cottage. Very clean, well kept, and quiet place to stay. The hosts were very nice and the location of the house is very close to all the surrounding attractions around Placerville.
It was beautiful property, with a nice cozy cottage. The cottage was clean and had everything that we needed. The owners are very welcoming. And all the directions were accurate. We had a lovely stay. And hope next year we can visit again.
This place was perfect for us. Visiting friends in Placerville, it was clean and had everything we needed. We didn’t see the hosts, but the entry instructions were accurate and there was a book inside with additional info about the property and local activities. Am looking forward to returning because a)it was great, and b)to visit the chickens and horses next time!
Cute and clean, filled with history of the Placerville area. Small cottage with enough room for two (when we stayed inside). The decks around the cabin and pond were decorated so well and it was peaceful just relaxing in nature.
It was exactly what we expected. Description and pictures are accurate. Perfect for our needs, comfortable, clean and well put together. The host were flexible, accomodating and easy to work with. Definitely recommend staying here.
The cabin was very cozy, so very clean. Everything I needed was in the cabin. It was Quiet and the surroundings are beautiful. There is a lovely koi pond with a small waterfall as you walk in the gate. I’m ready to re book. I would return here anytime. It is a perfect getaway!
We were looking for a quiet place to stay for a few nights as a break from the daily grind of work and life. Miner’s Cottage was just what we were looking for. It was cozy, quiet and all our hosts were kind and helpful.
The grounds of the property are gorgeous, the guest suite was so adorable. Very clean and well stocked for our convenience. The hosts were very kind and personable. We loved our stay. This is our Go-To home in Placerville!
Miner's Cottage was a quiet, relaxing place to stay while visiting Placerville. It's a short drive to downtown Placerville and many nearby wineries. The property is lovely, and we enjoyed talking with our host Cindy and visiting the horses, cats, and chickens. We hit Placerville during a very hot spell, and the A/C & ceiling fan in the room made for a comfortable stay. We also appreciated the comfortable bed, and enjoyed the art and interesting miner decor in our room. We would stay here again.
This was a great place to stay on our trip to Placerville/Apple Hill. It was quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed sitting on the deck by the small fish pond and waterfall area. The antiques were a nice touch. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We highly recommend the miners cabin.
We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was clean and had everything one needs. We loved the landscaping and general ambiance. The hosts were friendly and check in/check out was simple. Highly recommend!
I had a very pleasant 2 night stay in the Miners cottage, the owners thought of everything you would need to be comfortable and provided a lot of resources about the area. I especially liked the water feature in the yard and all the landscaping. I would definitely stay again!
My husband and I decided to go to Gold Country for our 7th wedding anniversary and I found the delightful Miner's Cottage listing with its lovely photos and cute description. And we were not disappointed at all! The settings around the cottage were so attractive and the cottage was well appointed and as cute as can be! It was very clean and very well-stocked for our coffee needs - which was perfect for us as we sat by the little pond in the morning enjoying our coffee. (And, by the way, be sure to ask the hostess about the miner's implements used to decorate the cottage!)Cynthia and Tom were the consummate hosts, and we felt welcomed and very much at home. We know where we want to stay if we go on another trip to that part of Gold Country!
From the time we saw this listing online, we knew it was the right spot for our anniversary get-away. The cabin is cozy and full of interesting artifacts, as well as very interesting books which we perused. The grounds were absolutely lovely, trees and flowers everywhere to enjoy. The pond and waterfall also added so much ambiance, it was just delightful relaxing on the patio, listening to the water. Tom and Cindy were the most helpful and friendly of hosts; how we enjoyed getting to know them. We would definitely return here if we are in the area and do hope we are sometime.
The location is perfect. Far enough out of town but close to restaurants. The room was enough for the both of us, a nice cozy place. The wild turkeys and deer in the morning were a plus.
What a great little cottage to stay in while our family camped close by. We had everything we needed in a beautiful setting. We will definitely be back.
It’s the cutest little cottage, they have coffee set out, and a vintage fancy stove and mini fridge. The heat was difficult to figure out but once I got it turned on it was able to keep a comfortable toasty temperature. Only down side is 10 minute showers due to a small hot water tank.
