It was welcoming and comfortable. The breakfasts were wonderful. The only negative thing I’d mention is that the vent in the bathroom looked like it should have been cleaned, but other than that, it was just lovely.

Immaculate bed and breakfast offering complementary happy hour nightly! Very accommodating staff. You are able to customize your breakfast with a menu card the evening prior. Breakfast was filling and good with a great selection. Short walk to restaurants and shopping.

Great location to walk to the University areas. The staff was fantastic and the room was small but very nice. Breakfast options were very good. The gardens are beautiful and eating outside for breakfast was special. Staying here really gave us a great feel for residential living in downtown Pittsburgh.

Wonderful staff. Room was spacious beautifully appointed and clean. Fantastic breakfast prepared by a talented chef. Cookies, tea and wine offered every afternoon during happy hour. Beautiful property! The room and remodeled bathroom are very spacious. Located blocks from shops and restaurants. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. No need to bring any toiletries. They provide everything necessary for a getaway trip. Will come back whenever in the area.

What a beautiful and comfortable property! All of the empty room doors are open, so I was able to see many of the rooms at this Inn. You would be happy in any of them as they are all fairly large. We enjoyed the cheese plate and wine set out in the afternoon and the beautiful breakfasts prepared for us by the onsite chef. We slept well and had convenient parking. The sheets were divine.

Take a Break from the Chains

Need a break from the chains? Stay here! 8 different rooms. We stayed on the top floor in the Northern Spy room. (All rooms named after apples.) Our room had a leather loveseat sitting room and a big bedroom. I always appreciate a bathroom with lots of space for my schtuff AND a magnifying mirror. Check & check! Walnut St is a block away—lots of restaurants & shopping. This property is close to Carnegie Mellon and Chatham colleges. The breakfast choices were suberb!

I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before, and the kind and attentive staff took the stress right out of the equation. Upon check-in, we were shown around the property and shown the room, and the attendant explained the card we were to use to order our breakfast and state our preferred time to eat the next morning. Little details abounded — someone had even included a short handwritten weather report on our breakfast card. There was a fact sheet about the historic property in our room. All the conveniences of a modern hotel, like a comfy mattress and nice toiletries, were wrapped within a beautiful Victorian home. There were even robes for our use in the closet! It was a special experience, and I feel that if we stay in another bed and breakfast, the bar has been set high by the Inn on Negley.
