Very happy we could stay during corona outbreak - had to pick up my daughter from Pitt. Staff is helpful and friendly. Location is safe. Glad Panera was still open for takeout! Safe harbor during difficult time.

Overall pretty good and very clean. The hotel is non-smoking but people next door to us were smoking so we had to be moved since the smell was everywhere in our room. The room we were moved to had no cable and there was just static on TV. The front desk said they had no more rooms we could be moved to.

lean and comfortable, but dated

The room was clean and comfortable. However, in its condition, the hotel is showing its age. On registering, I asked if an accessible room was available. They don’t have any, but provided a shower chair and suction cup grab bar. Neither worked well. The Key-card lock did not work well. It took multiple attempts every time to open the door. The decor is outdated and there were no USB ports for device charging. The wifi worked very well, though.

Mixed bag

Most of the staff were incredibly rude. Including the overnight security guard, the young man on the house keeping staff, and a couple of desk clerks. There were a couple of employees who were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable.

the room overall was in good condition; however, the wall heating unit didn't respond to any set temperature. Outside temp was cold and when heat was turned on, it just kept heating to uncomfortable, dry temps in the room. We spent the night with it turned off. I reported same to the desk in the morning.

The room was very clean and we kind of liked the retro look of the building. No complaints, just greatful for the location to the Magee Womens' Hospital.3 blocks and we were there. Thank you for your kindness with our daughters' cancer surgery.

This location is a bit of a walk from the things that we wanted to do but the free hotel shuttle was helpful getting us where, or close to, we wanted to go during the day. The shuttle stops around 5 pm, so if you're out after that plan on alternate transportation. Free parking was a bonus considering what other hotels closer to downtown charge. Rooms were clean and the surrounding area seemed pretty quiet. Front desk staff was helpful with the questions we had, shuttle driver was awesome!! Manager was very kind and a fellow Ontarian!

Power outage

Everything was fine until this morning. There was a power outage this morning, which was not their fault but we didn’t receive a call about what to do. We had to leave for the day without getting properly ready or having breakfast. We’ll see how they handle it.

Solid Affordable Hotel

It's a solid hotel with a limited amount of amenities. Great location in relation to Pitt, CMU and a short UBER downtown or to Shadyside.
