We planned to see a show at the Rex Theater & decided to make it a overnight getaway (kids) This place looked gorgeous ( it really is, too) Could’ve been an amazing glowing review...
Except the male owner is rude! So rude, each interaction. I received an email for my vehicle information so we can park on the street, I responded via email ( & asked for him to confirm he received everything he needed) no response..
Second email from owner saying “if you didn’t give me vehicle information, I need it) I again responded same email & again asked for confirmation. I received nothing.
Day of, We arrived & there’s a note between the double doors to call him when we get there to get the code. Mind you We have two bags in a very small space between doors ( so small we can’t shut first door) while he goes on and on & is asking where we parked?
We parked in one of the two spaces that said Visitors parking on the property. We were told not to park there, park on the street , since some customers didn’t provide information for parking permit ( I didn’t know if they ever received it) .
After 10mins we finally get in & to our room, It’s nice but no remote, Look all over, Call Mr.Rude, who’s annoyed it seems & he informed us since we’re seeing a show we don’t need a tv. Then says he’ll look into it, he calls me back and Rudely says What have you touched/ messed up in the room” Bc I can move you to the attic, At the point we just stayed & he never cared! Everything was grey except him!
The Inn is a charming place to connect with other guests. Joy made a fabulous breakfast. The neighborhood is very walkable with lots of yummies for the foodies.
As soon as I arrived this place was disappointing. After a long drive I pulled into an area clearly marked guest parking. I was glad to see this because there was very Lillie parking on the street in this busy area. When I walked in the door there was a note asking me to park on the street. I had to re- load my car and drive around the block 3 times to find a place. I then had to call a phone number to get someone to come and let me in. I was then told they had changed my room without checking with me. The room was on two stories with the bathroom on the lower level and the bedroom on the upper level. When I walked in the building smelled heavily after the fresh arrangements of lilies they had in several places which were very hard on my allergies. Upon arrival in my room it was clear the room was on poor condition. The carpet was dirty frayed and poorly installed. The wallpaper was peeling and there was evidence is possible black mold in the bedroom area. The stairs to the bedroom were very steep and narrow and there was a whole in the wall at the base of the stairs. There was an extra faucet on the sink that just didn’t work. There was no direct heat to the bedroom just the heat that made it up the stairs so the bedroom got pretty chilly. The television was just a fire stick streaming and the internet didn’t connect to it so I had no television service. Between the dirty carpet the mold and the flowers I developed a severe migraine. The room literally made me sick.
Morning Glory Inn was very pretty, well kept and the staff friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Joy and the staff were lovely. The owner on the other hand was rude and unprofessional. Parking was not as we were told and, would not have been an issue if my wife did not have rheumatoid arthritis.
Beautiful location facility was gorgeous staff was friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the bed in the Jackson room tilted downward at the head of the bed so I felt like I was sleeping upside down. The pillows were OK but could be better. Overall a very nice experience.
This is an ADORABLE place! So sweet, so precious. I came here for a overnight with my new boyfriend. We slept in the Garden Room, we had coffee in the Library in the morning, we sat on the back porch and drank wine for lunch. It's just lovely. I highly recommend this place.
We came to the Southside of Pittsburgh to reconnect with family. Our mom grew up there, and we wanted to retrace her steps. The Morning Glory Inn was the perfect place to stay if one wishes to discover the Southside area. Within walking distance to great restaurants, cute shops, the incline, and many beautiful churches and cathedrals, the Morning Glory Inn is in a perfect location. The rooms are beautiful, there are several community rooms as well, and a fridge to store drinks/ leftovers. The area is safe and it's easy to get around. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and the freshly made breakfasts are delicious! We loved our stay and look forward to our return. There is also a spot for free parking right next to the Inn. If it is full, you can get a parking pass to park free anywhere on the street for the duration of your stay. As most Pittsburgh hotels charge for parking and breakfast, it's a win-win.
Joy, the Guest Services Manager, prepares delicious breakfasts!. We especially enjoyed her buttermilk waffles with fresh berries on the third day of our stay. Both Joy and Chelsea were friendly and helpful when asked questions about the area. They both made us feel at home.
After an initial miscommunication regarding front door access was ironed out, the remainder of our stay was pleasant and without issue. The room (Josephine Yard) is on the 3rd floor of this beautiful older home in the heart of Pittsburgh's south side. The room was very comfortable with a large and exquisitely comfy bed. There was a large private bathroom with the room and everything was clean, comfy, private and quiet.
Breakfast was pleasant enough, lots of excellent coffee and fruits and waffles. The only thing that could have made breakfast better would have been bacon.
We were only in town for a single night and this was not our first choice, but for all the other hotels booked solid already. However, if we choose to return for a full weekend, I would definitely consider staying here again. It reallly is a beautifully restored and comfortable home.
I booked a room at Morning Glory Inn for my Great Aunt. She was in town for a doctor's appointment and needed a comfortable place to stay. The staff was awesome and responded promptly to my emailed questions. I was able to join my aunt for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious.
This bed & breakfast is all about comfort and making you feel warm. Inviting staff and home. All those little things you don’t find at chain hotels are here. Antique decor and lots of space. You can read in the library, out on a deck or in either of the living rooms if there isn’t a small library/sitting room in the suite you chose for your stay. So peaceful and such a warm inviting place. Will not stay anywhere else but here from now on. Absolutely loved this place! Already booked again!
Love this place! The flowers smell so nice. The courtyard is beautiful. Easy street parking.
Chelsea checked me in nice and quick and I had the Whole Place to myself! So comfortable. Easy to do a little work at one of the many comfortable lounge areas before making the short walk to great bars (Ruggers) and restaurants of all flavors and styles! (Fatheads)
This is a very nice inn, close the shops and restaurants, that certainly makes business travel more enjoyable. The open spaces and atmosphere allow for relaxation much more so than a traditional hotel.
Nice B & B in South Side neighborhood. Neighbors can be noisy, but the breakfasts are very good and the room was clean and comfy. The outside dining area is very nice in warm weather.
Good location with easy access to all parts of town and a short walk to good restaurants and night spots. The building is beautiful, wonderfully furnished and very well maintained. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable, and the food was great.
Really amazing place! Beautiful accommodations with top of the line beds and linens. Courtyard is fantastic as well. The proximity to restaurants is amazing.
