Modern, accommodating

I had a great experience during my stay! Juanita at the front desk was incredibly helpful and made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. I also want to give a special shout-out to the lady overseeing breakfast (I'm so sorry I didn’t catch her name — older, white, with blonde/light brown hair and glasses). She was wonderfully attentive and genuinely kind. She kept apologizing for the oven issue that caused a delay with the bacon, but honestly, she didn’t need to — her care and attention more than made up for it. Great staff really makes a difference, and they certainly did here!

The building and our room was very clean and very nice!!! The parking lot was full of garbage all over!!! You had to step around and over it!! The front desk clerks were less than friendly and the clerk that checked us in was in her car in a handicapped spot when we pulled in. She acted like it was a huge effort to help me check in and was very rude. The check out clerk wasn’t much better.

Ad said rooms cleaned every day . Upon arrival room was not cleaned for 3 days . Despite telling at front desk . Later , reportedly the hey only clean once every 3 days on extended stay. Day 5 trash was left on one of the beds. While one side is done . Someone left in hurry… Staff was courteous and tried to remedy the situation. Clean towels were provided after day 5 after requesting . Total stay 9 days .

Disappointed

The place was in the midst of renovations. Half completed. The person who served breakfast was fabulous and pleasant. The pool temperature was frigid and the handles by the steps were wobbly and felt unsafe. A housekeeper cleaning the floor told me about a spill she was cleaning “this sh*t up.” Will stay elsewhere in the future. Fell below typical Holiday Inn Express past experiences at other locations which were always reliably positive.

Other hotels and staff were very rude and not welcoming at all. I was so appreciative that this location was able to accommodate our group of 5 at nearly 3:00AM when I called. We had just driven into the city and it was our first time there. Staff was great, clean room. The only negative was a soaked carpet area around the window and A/C unit. I found out by stepping on it in my socks. It had been raining so I’m sure it’s difficult problem to find unless you find it the way did. Otherwise everything was great!

All other hotels had no availability. Jaunita at the front desk was more than amazing on check in! She made sure all of my accommodations were met. At one point a group of disrespectful kids came in acting a muck and she did her best to keep them from disrupting the other gets stay from a peaceful one! She kept apologizing even though it was not her fault! The breakfast lady kept the food flowing warm and tasting great. Those same kids messed up her whole breakfast area as she kept it clean the whole morning. I felt so bad for her. But she kept moving with a smile on her face! Hands down best stay at any hotel thus far!!!

I'm reconsidering using Expedia for future bookings. My Expedia receipt was $5 less than what the hotel actually charged to my card. When you're traveling for business, it's frustrating to have to reconcile two separate receipts just to get reimbursed. Additionally, the hotel was in the middle of a system switch during my checkout, and I only received a receipt for 3 of the 4 nights I stayed. When I contacted the hotel, they couldn’t access the old system and promised to email the missing night's receipt—which I never received. Again, this is a significant inconvenience when accurate documentation is needed for expense reports. One more downside: there's currently no on-site dining available, which has always been a key reason I chose this hotel in the past. That said, I did notice the hotel was much cleaner than during my previous stay, which was a welcome improvement.
