Very Good

They helped me when I was ill but needed to change rooms, then helped me move again when the room turned out to be a smoking room. Then they brought me items I’d left when changing rooms in a hurry. They always greet with a smile when I come and go.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great Staff, Infrastructure Needs Improvement
GOOD: Very friendly staff with good English. Clean room with very comfortable bed. Hot shower and good plumbing. BAD: Aircon didn’t work except at full fan setting and made random noise as if the fan was knocking something round. WiFi not reliable and doesn’t use WPA or WEP security. There was a power outage every few days. No lift.
Hôtel situé au sud du centre ville, tuk tuk mais faisable à pied jusqu'au marché central. Personnel très accueillant et serviable. Ménage pas fait durant le séjour de 2 nuits. Emplacement calme, restaurants aux alentours.

old hotel - needs electrical work
My stay was adequate but I doubt I will return. Firstly, all the accommodation in 'NGO Land' (Boeung Kang Kang I) is poor value due to monied western non-governmental organizations using OPM (other people's money) to stay near many restaurants. You are paying for *location*, not amenities or service.
Negatives...
- The crowded with equipment gym (ground floor) reeks of mildew.
- The electrical outlets are burned, inconvenient location high up on wall, non-functional etc. It was so bad I had to be switched rooms at my insistence.
- The stairs are steep and manifold (no elevator).
- breakfast coupon to be used at Tom Yung Kung across street is marginally tasty and very small amount (e.g. coffee or juice, not both). This is a restaurant I used to eat at daily eight years ago, IMHO it has reduced its quality.
- directly across street is construction from 7 am to 7 pm (back and middle rooms noise not an issue.)
- heavy wooden furniture catering to Asian tastes
- I loathe plastic flowers and potpourri, especially when the bowl has no scent, wastes space and is glued to the counter!
- Lighting is dim
- uncomfortable toilet seat
Pluses
- comfortable mattress
- thick duvet
- air-conditioner had a perfectly clean filter
- friendly helpful staff
- front rooms have balcony with chair and small table
- noisy bachelor fridge (I have tinnitus and like some hum)
- scalding hot water (careful when adjusting!)
- couch outside in hall
- latch on door
- bum gun
