Our stay was very enjoyable the pool was very welcoming on a hot day Carmen the owner was lovely and very accommodating she was a pleasure to meet and I would recommend the Spanish lodge to everyone who loves pets as we had a small dog that Carmen welcomed superbly.

Arriving super late after a cancelled flight, it was wonderful to be so welcomed at the front door. The room was comfortable with heating and it’s own ensuite. After a restful night I awoke to my choice of light breakfast & a friendly chat with the host.

I am from Melbourne and stayed for 5 days. I received a warm, friendly welcome to an excellent accommodation. During my stay I suffered unexpected personnel difficulties due to work. Although in no way responsible, the House Manager provided invaluable support and assistance through my issues. 5 Stars is not high enough. Thank you.

This property is not what it’s made out to be. It is a small residential house with each small bedroom rented separately. The amenities are shared which is contrary to what is written in the property description. My bed had a single sheet on the mattress & a covered doona on top. When I opened the doona I could see lots of bits and pieces of dirt etc on the sheet, like someone had walked through the garden and gotten in the bed with dirty feet. The accommodation did not meet my expectations for the price I paid. I was extremely disappointed and removed myself from the premises at my earliest opportunity, as it seems did the other guests who woke me at 6am in their haste to leave…

Greeting was poor. Argued as to which room was booked. Was asked to pay an extra $15 for the room I had booked and prepaid. Did not want to know about booking through Wotif. Did not end up paying extra. If the room had not been paid in advance, I would have left. After problems were sorted, the lady was helpful.

The Spanish Retreat was in pristine condition with a beautiful pool area. Carmen was an extremely attentive host, she was a friendly caring lady who was willing to do anything you requested to ensure your comfort. She made my dog and myself extremely welcome. I would highly recommend staying at Carmen's Spanish Retreat to anyone wanting a relaxed homely holiday.

This property was easy to find and well located close to local amenities. The pool area was pleasant and there was an abundance of wild birds in the garden. The downside though was there was no breakfast, we were not offered a key for independence, the host told us to shush and keep the noise down even when we were not talking she was rude and offensive, she went into our room several times picking up our dirty laundry and washing it which we did not want her to do as we had our own washing liquid. We had to leave two days early as the atmosphere was too bad to stay there and when we left she said we had left the accommodation dirty even though we cleaned up after ourselves. I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone unless they like to be insulted and not treated as a guest.

Carmen is a wonderful host, providing coffee and tea on arrival and helping wherever possible. The house was lovely and very cozy, and being pet friendly was an added bonus. Highly recommend as a place to stay.

Quiet, excellent privacy, clean and secure.

Totally gobsmacked when , on arriving at 1;30 in the morning, the landlady was immediately at the door to welcome me inside offering hot or cold refreshments and also if she could make me something to eat.
