Great Hotel

Fantastic stay at this lovely hotel, paid for upgrade to the Sydney suite and was not disappointed, staff are lovely and friendly and could not do enough for you. Would definitely recommend this hotel, lovely views and just a small walk to the beach.

Relaxing Break

The stay was comfortable and exceptionally clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly but the hotel could do with an update on room decor and furniture. Able to park in their main car park each night and the hotel was well situated. The breakfast was very good and served in a very timely manner. I wish the owners good luck during these strange times and get the bookings to keep them going.

enjoyable brief stay

We had a brief two-night visit. The hotel is well organised in terms of comfort and security. The staff are attentive and helpful and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Breakfast and dinner menus have a good range of choices and the dinner prices seem compatible with the local pubs & restaurants. Due to current restrictions dinner reservations must be prebooked. We were able to book the second evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Breakfasts on both days were excellent. The hotel is a 5 minute walk down to Goodrington Bay (and a slightly longer walk back up the steep hill). It's about a 15 minute walk to the pier at Paignton. The hotel is an older property, well-maintained, with a sense of history about it. Unfortunately we were unable to take advantage of much it has to offer this time but would certainly revisit when circumstances permit.

Hotel was ok , was very clean. We checked in at 3pm and asked about evening meal to be told that they were fully booked and also did no meals on a Sunday. Normally not an issue but we struggled to get anywhere to eat so had to eat fish chips on seafront not the best.

We were made to feel very welcome by the lovely staff and the hotel had very good Covid hygiene practices in place. Our room was comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious. We also had dinner there on Friday night and it was very tasty and beautifully cooked. We liked the hotels location just a short walk from the seafront but also convenient to walk over to Paignton, which we did several times.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming and service at breakfast and dinner were excellent. The food was yummy! I would have given it an excellent, but some of the furniture in the room was tired and space was very limited where as I tried to squeeze between the bed and dressing table to open a window I hit my leg on the corner of the desk and have quite a bruise. It was very clean though and everything as it should be for COVID-19 and social distancing. It was also well placed for walking to Goodrington or Paington but not for someone who has trouble with hills.

We stayed for one night at this hotel and were overall happy. We received a lovely warm welcome and the bedroom was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is beautiful but very old fashioned decor. There is a lovely balcony at the front of the hotel with sea views that could be made into a main feature of the hotel with nice outside furniture. Surrounding area is quiet - lovely busy casual restaurant on the seafront - Cantina

Good hotel within short walk to beach

Very good experience. Arrived to coffee & tea in the lounge and we were made to feel very welcome. Rooms were very clean with good facilities and breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Close to beach

We didn't find the staff very friendly at all most walked round like they had a nasty smell under their nose.Our room, room one ,had half net curtains with the room looking out onto a steep hill if you wanted privacy you need to keep curtains closed.room carpet badly stained ,shower good but very mouldy,altogether not that impressed.
