One of the best 4 days ever. The sunrises were beautiful. The water was clear. The beach was relaxing. My cabin was perfect, and being lulled to sleep by the waves was a dream.
Tim and Nancy are gracious and caring hosts. The cottage was the perfect size for two folks and fully stocked with all the necessities. Clean, comfortable bed, linens and the sound of the waves made for perfect sleep. Location was perfect for little day trips all around the area. We are already planning our next visit.
Been going up to Oscoda for summer vacation for many years. Have stayed at a few vacation rentals there, & I have never had a batter experience! The cottage was spotless, filled with everything I needed, the beds comfortable to the sandy beach right outside my door,
This was our 1st time in Oscoda. Miami Beach Resort was cozy and very relaxing. The views and the sandy beach are as advertised. Tim, the owner, was helpful and quick to respond. We did have a problem at the cabin and he had a perfect solution. Robin and Jim, friends of Tim, arrived and made sure all the renters had whatever we needed in our cabins. The renters before us had left a mess inside the cabinets and drawers. Housekeeping had done a super job on the bed, the bath, and the rest of the cabin. After a 30 minute wipe up and wash the cabinets and drawers were fine.
We’d definitely come back to Miami Beach Resort. Loved the cabin, the beach, the nearby towns and parks, and the other renters…so friendly. We petted nice dogs. Made new friends. Were invited to church. All in all, SUPER.

Wasnt what I expected
I'd like to start off by saying the listing states cabin #9 is a stand alone cottage. Unless I don't understand what that truly means, it is not. From the pictures the stand alone cottages all have front lake view. Which is why I booked it. It does not have front lake view. We booked during a time where some time spent inside was necessary due to weather. I wanted to be able to sit inside and have a clear view of the water. So that disappointed me immediately. The host was doing some maintenance/repair work on the property and it was a mess. Several unfinished projects. Beach area was a mess. Stuff just sat everywhere. Inside was very small. I didn't mind that, at all. The living room furniture was extremely uncomfortable. A full size couch would have made a tremendous difference. If i wanted to sit with my husband to watch tv, doing so on a love seat is not comfortable long term, for say a movie. Wifi was so spotty i wouldn't even offer it. I had to go out to my car (where i have wifi) just to download a book on my Kindle. Bed was comfortable! We did get great sleep the 3 nights we stayed. Lastly, we had issues with the toilet and when brought to the hosts attention, he came in looked at it and told us if it continues we could go use the bathroom in cottage 6 since it wasnt being rented currently. I'm typically easy to please in these situations, but my experience was less than desirable. With so many cottages along that stretch, I'd go with someone else next time.
Beautiful property! We are from Ottawa county so we are Lake Michigan lovers but this place is unbelievable! Plan on going every year now. You won’t be disappointed!!🤯 Loving Lake Huron and the owners of this property!
Very nice, clean cabin and conveniently located near Oscoda and Tawas. It was great to be so close to the water, even though the weather didn’t cooperate much during my stay. However, the sunrise view was a great way to start each day. There is a nice walking/bike path next to the highway that goes a few miles each way that is accessible from the property.
The owner’s were friendly and accommodating, as well as the cleaning staff. The tidy cabins are beach/lakefront and have just about everything one might need including bbq grills, outdoor chairs, kayaks and canoes. So much fun!
The location was amazing. You literally walk out to the beach. The cabin was well stocked with things you will need.the few things we didn't like were it definitely needs air conditioning. It get warm in there! Even with the fans provided by the owners. The bathroom is also a little tight. My backside was rubbing the shower was as i sat down. And the shower curtains could use charging as they were kinda mildewed at the bottom. But over all clean.
Rented #9 for the weekend with my daughter. Cabin was perfect, had everything we needed. Being so close to the beach is absolutely fantastic! Tim and Nancy are great hosts. We used the kayaks they had available, nice time on the water : )
Planning on bringing the whole family back next year.
Mrs. Hosts said they would be there but were unable never there!
The beach is very nice and the cabins are small but cozy and clean. The hosts assured us if we needed anything they would be right there. But a couple of times we went to ask them something, no one was around. At all times of the day. Would’ve loved to make reservations for next summer.
The view was not as described! The cooking utensils and silverware had food on them! The sand should have been sifted for sharp objects! There were no easily accessible electrical outlets! Our security deposit was not returned in a timely manner!
Staying here was the highlight of my year. I stayed for 3 nights, and loved every moment- stunning sunrises and moonrises, exploring the nearby towns and Sturgeon Point grounds, kayaking Easter morning, all of it. Nancy was very friendly and checked in periodically, and because it was so early in the season, allowed a late check-out, which just kept the low-key ambiance going so everything was peaceful. I stayed in Cabin 3, which has two small bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchen/dining/living space, perfect for myself (and if I had a guest, still perfect). My room looked out at the water, and I slept with the window cracked to listen to the waves. I was looking for rest, quiet, and peace, and in addition to all of those things, I found unsurpassed beauty and renewal. Thank you!
My best friend and I booked a stay for a color tour. We met Tim when we got back fro.seeing the Lighthouse. He suggested a drive down River road. We took him up on his recommendation. It was the best part of our trip. Our best friend was tragically taken from us in March 2020. Her body was recovered on the River toad in our town. His recommendation now allows us to think of her and beauty when we hear River road. This cabin is everything you hope it will be.
The cottage was clean and while small, contained everything we needed for meals. Walk out the door and you are on the beach and close to the water. There are shared kayaks, corn hole and ladder golf available for use, as well as fire pits. Close to Oscoda fo shopping and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
