Eco retreat, easy stroll to beach. Organic garden setting

Set in a very peaceful rural setting inside the township of Opunake. A organic permaculture garden with a flock of Indian Runner Ducks and Chinese Silkie Chickens ( no rooster!!) minutes from a glorious beach with a view of Mt Taranaki. Wild bird life fills the gardens with song. Surf, climb the maunga or explore the Opunake Loop Trail then luxuriate under the stars in the outdoor bath. Handy to everything but secluded. In the romantic sleeping pod you will drift to sleep hearing the call of the ocean. Perfect tranquil place to rest and restore.

There is an outdoor bath and an outdoor shower for after the beach with hot running water.

Enjoyed our couple of nights in this peaceful spot in Ohakune. Nice to wander round the garden and had everything we needed.

Beautiful accomodation. Very clean and spacious. It was so peaceful and we loved listening to the bird sounds. Unfortunately we had limited time so didn’t get to enjoy the short walk to the beach. Hopefully we will be back soon.

Relaxing and Unwinding

What a cozy little cottage. Loved the chickens and ducks running around. Easy walking distance to town and the beach. Having a bath under the stars is magic! The hosts Rob and Viv were lovely. Although the cottage is on the hosts section, it is very private. A great selection of books and a very sunny spot.

Nice but wouldve like to know about compost toilet.

Nice but bit uncomfortable with compost toilet,had already paid before been made aware,probably wouldnt have stayed otherwise.

Friendly retreat

Very relaxing after a mountain walk, sitting on the deck watching the animals potter around. The Opunake Loop Walk can be joined around the corner. Nice meeting one of the owners in the garden. Clean, tidy, plenty of space, had enough kitchen implements to cook up a decent meal one night. Thanks for a lovely stay :)
