Located on the shore of Lake Superior and the Big Iron River, this AmericInn feels like you’re at the end of the world. It’s very quiet and serene. Thankfully there is a restaurant/bar attached to the hotel otherwise it’s slim pickings for places to eat. If you’re looking for a high energy, glitzy getaway, this is not the place for you. If you just want to relax, wander the shoreline, and enjoy a community campfire, this is your best option.

We love staying here! It’s literally a rock pickers paradise. Always very clean, always friendly staff & always sketchy WiFi!! Ha ha! Parking was a bigger issue this time than it’s ever been but it was also a packed hotel.

The staff are great! They asked which floor we would prefer. They helped us with an Expedia issue. They were always available. The motel is comfortable and clean enough, especially for a lakeside property with a sandy beach outside. Just know that, due to the location, there is no cell phone service, and internet is spotty.

The room was large and very clean. The hotel allowed dogs; the entire property inside and out was spotless. It was very quiet. It is right on the shore of Lake Superior which was wonderful! Will definitely stay here again when we want to hike Porcupine Mountains. It is 3 miles away!
