Rooms need to be upgraded. Furnitures are outdated. I originally booked a family room, but since I was seniors unable to go up and down the stairs, we opted to 2 adjacent rooms on the first floor instead. I asked how much extra will be paid upon check in and was told that everything was ok. My group had to go somewhere for about an hour and due to unexpected events, we had to cancel our stay. We placed our things in one of the 2 rooms. I was told that I will be charged about ₱2,800 if we were to use the second room. If we will check out, we won't get any refund, which is fine, but not even for the unused room. I tried this place because of the reviews, but I will never go back.

We loved that the property was right on the beach so it was not only convenient but it also allowed us to sit at the restaurant and enjoy all the activity. The food was delicious with lots of variety and the staff was excellent... friendly, accommodating and efficient. We are looking forward to our next trip back!

Wonderful resort with a great restaurant

Wonderful stay at a clean and comfortable resort. Everyone made sure we were having a good time. The restaurant serves great food with a diverse menu. It was a nice break to have very good Mexican food since I normally see only Filipino food served in other resorts. Came here to escape the craziness of Manila and left relaxed and wishing we could stay longer. Even the drive to the resort was a nice break from the unrelenting traffic of the big city. Looking forward to returning in the future.

I really like Playa Papagayo Beach Inn and Restaurant. It is a quiet place to relax and unwind. Food is very good and the owner of this property is very helpful and friendly. I stayed with my family and friends and we definitely enjoyed every moment of our stay. I recommend this place to all the travellers who wants to visit Subic area.

Great stay. I love how close the shore is from the hotel. We had fun and stayed til 10pm having coffee in their mexican resto facing the sea, they had good food. Their breakfast is a must try. My son loved their pancakes.

Playa Papagayo has a beautiful beach front view. It’s wonderful in the mornings. My children (ages 4 and almost 2yo) loves the scenery. The whole resort has a very homey and welcoming ambiance.

It was right on the beach and you won’t find a better resort for the price. They don’t have any amenities on the beach but they can arrange to have jet skis, speed boats, banana boats (whatever you want), brought to the resort for less expensive prices than the neighboring resorts. The staff is good and the manager/owner spends a lot of time checking up on guests to make sure they are comfortable. I would stay here again with my family. This resort is a good deal, clean and has good amenities.

It was nice getting there from Manila. But the door was not what I would say is a security-type door. It had a lock chain from the inside but the door itself was made of cheap wood and could easily be breached. Initially I could not figure how to turn on the "spray" portion of the shower. But the Mexican style food was good, and the service excellent. Not bad for a place to just "hang your hat."
