Another very pleasant stay at HGI while visiting to watch football. A very clean and comfortable room that would be on the pitch at the Stadium of Light if it was much closer! Very acceptable restaurant, but beware of inexperienced waiting staff who make up their answers to your queries without appearing to know what the correct answer is!

Stayed here about six times now and have always had a good experience overall. The rooms are consistently clean and the air conditioning works well. I also regularly use the gym, although on my most recent stay the cable machine was missing the hand grips, so hopefully these can be replaced soon. If I had one complaint it would be the breakfast. The scrambled eggs were solid, the beans had a skin on top, and the sausages looked overcooked. The fresh fruit selection also included some pieces of apple that had gone brown. Overall a good hotel, just some small improvements and it would be great hotel.

Hotel is great, rooms were clean, I only have one issue, the windows in the room, they cannot be opened so after 1 weeks stay the room is quite musty as no fresh air in the rooms

Room was clean and were allowed access to the room earlier than check in time which was greatly appreciated, especially when travelling with a child. Staff were very welcoming. Went for an evening meal, service was average, ordered a drink that never came, asked for the child’s meal to come out with the adults main, didn’t happen. Staff at the bar were lovely. Breakfast was great, staff though sparse were lovely.
