This was one of the best stays ever. I had no idea when I booked that it was a Bed and Breakfast!! It’s decorated to antique and stylish! The Street car running directly in front is and added bonus! Our concierge served us delicious breakfast options each morning! Although there should be non pork options. The are around the hotel is very lovely and friendly. We strolled 3 to 4 blocks everyday enjoying the local eateries in the neighborhood. The entire staff from concierge to cook to the groundskeeper were very pleasant! I will definitely be booking and recommending Canal Street Inn!

Charming!!!! Breakfast is served on tables with lovely China and fresh flowers.
I visit New Orleans every year to see my family. This was my first time staying in a B and B instead of with them due to renovations at their home. This area is beautiful and it's easy to get everywhere from here. The Inn is spotlessly clean, and has lovely décor. The streetcar runs right by. The rooms are large and comfortable and the staff is very kind and helpful. I was concerned about being in a hotel or B and B, but this one is so nice, that I actually spent time in my room reading in the lovely window seat.
My husband and I visited in December 2023 for a quick getaway for our Anniversary. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again, if a few things are addressed.
Positives:
The Inn was beautiful. We loved the decor and architecture. It is a historical building that is well maintained and cozy. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable with attention to small details. Breakfast was good, not great, but the Innkeeper was very nice and thoughtful since she did give me gluten free toast instead of a biscuit.
The location was nice and quiet. It is not as close to the French Market as I had hoped but it was an easy streetcar ride or Uber ride. There were a couple restaurants that were a quick walk from the Inn. Our favorite was Katie’s, which we highly recommend.
Needs Improvement:
The first night we slept well except there was a beeping coming from something on and off throughout the night. We unplugged several things the next day but we obviously did not unplug the correct device because the beeping continued the next night.
The second night I did not sleep very well at all. The room was very warm and stuffy. I was able to fall asleep for an hour or two but woke up around 11pm sweating and having difficulty breathing. I texted the Innkeeper twice and walked around the Inn to try to find a thermostat. I couldn’t find one and did not get a response from the Innkeeper. I was up for hours and only fell asleep here and there from sheer exhaustion. The Innkeeper did respond
This place was a literal gem, a true bed and breakfast environment! From the welcome, to the tour, making sure you were provided with everything you would need. Everyone was super friendly and so helpful! And the property is simply beautiful! We will definitely be staying here again. Cannot wait, till next time!
This was the most Impressive place to stay. The staff was amazing and attentive. I was not feeling well and missed breakfast. The wonderful staff called to check on me and told me if I needed anything g to just ask.
The rooms are nice, very clean. We stayed on the lower level but the a/c was not able to keep up with the heat. Service could have been much better. Breakfast was lacking and the coffee was cold. Very limited parking.
We had advised the inn keeper of an early arrival which she was fine with. However, we showed up really early b/c of an early flight. Merely wanted to store our bags and change cloths in a bathroom. Monica had none of that. Promptly, took us to our room, got us set up and we worried about payment....etc later. She did all of this despite working on breakfast prep. Also very helpful with recs and helped m with some tech issues getting boarding passes. A gem of a place.
Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Disliked: Staff & service
There was No Ice. For a hot climate I found that odd. There was 2 bottles of water in our room upon arriving but after that we were never offered it again. Only hot tea and coffee. No one was ever around after breakfast.
This was a very good choice. I have no complaints.
Only suggest they share street car and bus schedules / app for guests. Also a map would have been great even if it was posted in the hallway or lounge. We too much time getting lost trying to find a grocery store, drug store and liquor store. We downloaded the Moovit app but it would have been nice to know about the app at time of check-in. Also the Waffle House closes on the inside at midnight, we found out the hard way and had to wait for our food a while and was charged extra $3 for to go fee.
Stay was superb; the inn is charming in a perfect location in mid city across from the street car that takes you to the French quarter, downtown, or city park. Ambiance and host were excellent. Could not recommend more highly.
This was quick get away for valentines weekend. Julia handled everything for us and made our time very special. Highly recommend this place! Oh! And the breakfasts were amazing
Julia was very warm and welcoming and helped me navigate NOLA from their location. I am not a breakfast eater but it looked delicious! On site parking was convenient and the location in mid City makes getting to various parts of the city easy- it is also within walking distance of Katie’s and Parkway Grille- both great restaurants!!
