Disliked: Check-in, communication, location
Didn't like having to go get a key down the road and dropping it off after visit. Should tell visiters they are sharing the parking lot with ours. There was dog hair in our bed. The place was nice and it was very nice to have a garage to park in.
We were here primarily for a biking experience and it did not disappoint. Quiet, clean , very nice space. We cooked some of our meals and ate at some local places for others. It was nice to be able to walk or bike to the places we wanted to go.
It was a bonus to have a garage to park our bikes and car in.
Loved our stay at the Carriage House! It was so pretty, clean, cozy, and just right for a long weekend mother daughter trip! The only thing I would suggest for future guests is to add the hot tub is shared between the properties. We did not feel comfortable going to the other house to access it as it was so close to the other home.
We appreciated the quick response and assistance to access hot water, along with the follow up the next morning.
Thank you so much!
Property was exactly how it was listed. Pretty quite for location being in town and behind a Bed and Breakfast. Very clean! Only reason I did not give it a five start rating was because hot tub and parking are shared with the Bed and Breakfast. Little walk to hot tub and If you book a weekend where they are busy you might not get to park by the house. Have to park on the street and walk back the driveway because Bed and Breakfast guest take up the parking.
The communication ahead of the trip was prompt and very attentive, until check in. I did not understand that we were going to the Business for the Key. We arrived and left thinking something was wrong only to have to circle back 10 minutes later. Perhaps this could be clarified in the communications. Place was very clean and tidy, comfortable! ** Significant Earwig bug problem. ALL OVER and even In the couches!
The cottage was not luxury. It has adequate living space and kitchen facilities. The beds were comfortable. That is where the positives end. There were no amenities in bathroom. Cottage was in a run down neighborhood with shacks as views. We thought we were staying in a cottage in beautiful Hocking Hills. The property was old and outside unkept, paint peeling, weeds everywhere. Hot tub was shared with B&B next door and you had to walk across a parking lot. The remote control on the TV did not work an when we finally were able to communicate with property manager we were told that the housekeeper was aware that it did not work. I spilled water on the floor and when I wiped it up the paper towel was black with dirt. The VRBO description did not match the actual. Would not recommend.

I loved the property, Immaculately kept, absolutely gorgeous and would love to stay here again. Whoever decorated and the little details bring joy and inspiration, down to the positive affirmations and the furnishings and even having spices to use to cook in the kitchen. I cannot wait for another staycation.
A few things to improve are to turn up the hot water, could not figure out how to do that. Also the power went out to the upstairs bathroom when I stayed there and stayed off the entire night and following morning til checkout. Maybe label which circuit on the circuit breaker to flip to get it back on. The biggest issue is the parking; it is a very inconvenient driveway and if even 2 cars are parked there it is very hard to maneuever and get out and I think there should be one spot that is marked for handicapped and unloading and designated for the Carriage House as this parking is most logically located right next to Carriage House. People kept pulling in and out and backing in and out of driveway which is kind of dangerous as they saw no spots are available. I would designate one spot for Carriage House at least and one for Primrose and not allow further parking. Stripe it with paint for these spots. The pavement leading from street to driveway is great but then drops off very steeply and unpleasantly into gravel which makes backing out into the street very dangerous and stressful. Please take these ideas about clear striping and designated signage into mind.
It's truly the best place we have ever stayed, for the price, size and amenities. All of the little touches were great, as well. We recommended to family and friends before we even left. We will be back, for sure.
Everything was great thanks. Only suggestion is that the bushes on the way out the driveway make it hard to see if people are coming on the sidewalk from the right. Thanks for the great stay.
Out stay at this property was great! Place was super clean and everyone was very friendly! The house itself is super nice on the inside, very charming with all the wood paneling. Only thing I will say is that the mattress on the first floor was a little worn but overall this stay was Amazing!
This property was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our weekend celebrating my daughter's graduation from Ohio University. The property was 20 minutes from campus and uptown Athens. Thank you for a great weekend away.
Everything about the stay was peaceful and easy going from the check in to check out. Check in literally took 5 minutes with the clerk giving details on activities nearby and the best restaurants around to try. The house was very welcoming with all of the greeting signs and everything needed for a comfy relaxed stay was provided. Location was good for traveling to Athens and Hocking Hills. The only minor issue we ran into was the temperature of the jacuzzi never adjusted to a hotter temperature. Thank you for providing us with a comfortable and lovely stay.

The property was very nice and clean. Very accurate according to the photos and description. Didn't have that musty smell. I would stay here again. The check-in woman was VERY friendly. She informed us of all the local hot spots and trails that were her favorites, etc. I wasn't expecting that, so it was a pleasant surprise.
The place was clean and comfortable - a great location for a wonderful visit to the Hocking Hills area with family! There were plenty of recommendations about things to do and places to eat, many of which we took advantage of. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had what we needed. The listing stated that there was a washer and dryer but there were not. The hosts stated that this was an error in the listing which would be fixed. The only other issue we had was the water heater that went out while one of us was showering. But it was working again the next day, so not a major issue. In all, we’d definitely consider staying here again the next time we’re in the area!
