"The room rate is advertised at $105, not the $161.00 I was charged, for a total of $461. The hotel had a rating of 9.2.
Wow. This was a huge disappointment. I asked the front desk if they would honor the rate of $105 and she refused. That was BEFORE I saw the room.
The hotel is old, poorly maintained, screens and windows were broken. Window screens had holes with several flies on the screen. The window tracks were filthy & black. The mustard colored paint was chipped, damaged, dirty.
The Seaview Queen suite did not have the fireplace pictured, nor did it have any view of the sea. The only view was of a weed infested side yard through the broken windows.
Old painted particle board cabinet doors were chipped with missing chunks of particle board. Every piece of molding was chipped, worn and dirty. The furniture was very dated, cheap pine that was worn and stained. The nightstands had been painted, but the paint was chipped. The hotel has not been renovated since the 1950s.
We stayed to register a complaint with Hotels.com.The hotel clerk came over while I was in the phone. I showed her the broken windows and screens. She opened the window and let the flies into the room. We left with 30 minutes.
My friends in another room noted similar disrepair and lack of maintenance. To open the microwave door required moving the small refrigerator placed in front of it. Seaview Queen Suite was a scam. The hotel is on par with a run down 1950 no-tell motel in a bad neighborhood"
