Rooms were clean however overpowering scent of Fabuloso required us to open window. Trash had accumulated in the parking courtyard and near one of our rooms. AC cover in one room was removed & laying on the floor. But AC did work. Staff was friendly & welcoming, she was the highlight of the property. She indicated she was new & look forward to changes she'll make

The motel was a dump. The room had flies everywhere. You should be ashamed to offer the hotel on your website. We would like a refund. We left immediately and didn’t spend the night. TERRIBLE!!!

There is no deadbolt for the room only a lock on the door handle (not very safe as anyone can break in), roaches and crickets everywhere, parking is not the best.

In spite of THREE written confirmations up to 2 months before, the American Star Inn cancelled my reservation 48 hours before I was due to check in.

Door knobs would not unlock properly. Toilet loose and lean, felt like going to fall over, bolts look like rusted through. Shower fixtures rusted and loose!

There are roaches in the room, there was also grasshopper. The 24-hour front desk was often locked .There was no free breakfast. Bottled water provided was disgusting. The pet fee doubled the cost of the room! Nothing good to say about this place! Thankfully the Expedia rep was able to give me a $25 credit.

We reserved a room with two beds, but they did not have any. Instead, they gave us a room with one bed and one sleeper sofa. Plus, the listing says they have breakfast and they do not. Furthermore, there was an old broken Coke machine outside with a used mattress leaning up against the wall like some sort of trashy trailer park.

Never Again!

The place from the outside is a dump. Front office locked. Had to call cell to get checked in. There was no non-smoking room available, only a smoking room. She gave me a candle to mask the smell. She blamed you guys because she said she was booked but you booked me anyway. The room was not really clean, bed was horrible, tv didn’t work. No continental breakfast - not even coffee. Take this place off your radar.

They just bought it 3 months ago they charge you 25 for your service dog. Then when I was walking my dog there was room open all night with it light on. Dead bolt did not work and the toilet was Tiny. It’s not very handicap accessible. The shower was slippery. Did not use. I do hope the new owners fix up this place

I would never have stayed here if I knew…

I’m going to try really hard to be kind because the owners seem like good people, but I also have to be brutally honest. I’m not sure how this place is getting 5 star reviews. The owners described it as a “working man’s motel”, and I understand that. If you’re truly looking for an inexpensive place to lay your head, this place is fine I guess? But if you’re looking for any kind of comfort, you’d be better off finding an Airbnb in the area. We honestly would have been more comfortable camping…. The pictures on hotels.com, etc, are misleading. They make it seem much nicer than it is. The overwhelming scent of Fabuloso can’t hide the fact that the floors are dirty (the picture is my socks after walking around for a few hours) and there are holes in the walls. We were only given one towel, the tv picture was fuzzy and the remote didn’t work. The refrigerator was dirty and sticky inside. Uncomfortable mattress with springs poking out, and flat pillows. The description also states that they serve breakfast from 6-9am. There was no breakfast. If that was something that needed to be arranged beforehand, that needs to be stated in the description. The only reason I gave it more than one star is because it was very affordable, and I’m sure the owners work very hard, but if you don’t have the resources to properly maintain a motel, you should probably go into another line of business.

Great Place

The owners were AMAZING! Super friendly and accommodating. The rooms are quaint and owner kept up. Nice area to be in. Beautiful garden with horseshoe pit.

The people that run this property are the most hospitable people we’ve run into. Anything we needed they would get or help with. They had a home cooked breakfast waiting in the morning. Very genuine.
