Spacious lodge with plenty of sleeping and seating for our group. Easy check in and Cheryl was very responsive to any query or need we had. Perfect place for a large group.
Payne Lake Lodge is a gem. We are so happy to find a place where we can all gather around and spend time together as a family. We can’t wait to come back again.
We had a great time staying here. There is a lot of space on the property and in the cabin. Lots to do in the cabin on cold days. The view is beautiful.
We had a fabulous time celebrating my mom’s 70th birthday. It was the perfect location with plenty of space for us all. The kitchen is well stocked and there’s plenty to do! Would definitely go back for another family gathering!
My Wife and I booked this property as a place to stay and venue for a wedding with 20 people. The views were great, and the lodge was clean and well organized, with plenty of options for entertainment. Our guest loved the property as well, with lots of beds and bathrooms everyone was very comfortable. The host was easy to get a hold of and came and checked with us in the first night to make sure everything was good. Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a reunion or small gathering venue.
The location is stunning, and the house itself is spacious and comfortable. However, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of cleanliness. The furniture and bedding are quite old and worn. Not all the windows have screens, which makes it difficult to get proper airflow, and the house gets uncomfortably hot on warm summer days without air conditioning. Additionally, the property manager was unresponsive to my messages, although she did stop by once during the stay.
We had a great time at the Payne Lake Lodge! So many rooms and so many extra beds! Waking up to that view is breathtaking, the stars at night are amazing, we really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is stocked with whatever tools you might need and there is ample place to sit in the dining area.
There aren’t many outside lights, my parents had brought a string of Christmas lights which we placed on the deck, made hanging out outside wonderful. We loved that Cheryl came to greet us and answered any questions we had.
It was a lovely piece of property in the middle of nowhere with a wonderful view of Payne Lake and the mountains.
8 bedrooms and gobs of space with huge picture windows overlooking the view
Lots of property with space for family football, outdoor fire pit with lots of benches
Several refrigerators and stoves- even a chest freezer
Owner always available to call and take care of anything needed
Passing deer and moose sometimes
We even had huckleberry bushes in season
Paddleboat riding available
I even enjoyed the Canadian Poutine dish from the Barn Store.
Overall, the whole family loved the place ‼️❣️‼️❣️‼️
We had an incredible experience at Payne Lake Lodge. The lodge was big enough for our family gathering.
Cheryl was very attentive to our needs.
She took care of stuff that required attention promptly.
We ran into communication challenges exchanging and getting information via VRBO site but Cheryl and I manage to rectify the missing important details we required regarding arriving and entry to the property.
Cheryl even offered her property for petting animals for my little nephews and nieces, weaving from their animal pets fur for both adults and kids alike and —— our experience with the wagon ride which we all enjoyed.
She asked us to write our suggestions for minor stuff we noticed needs improvement.
She was accommodating and delightful to deal with.
Our family of 34 stayed at the Lodge for a week and it was wonderful. There were plenty of comfortable beds and towels and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook anything we wanted! We filled the 3 fridges with food for the week and had plenty of space. We used the bbq outside one night and it was great. I will be totally honest- if you are expecting the Marriott - this is not the Marriott. It’s a well loved and well used beautiful country lodge. We had wasps and mosquitoes and all the things you’d expect to find in the country. We even had a little bat sneak in somehow but he quickly flew out when we guided him towards the door. Cheryl was quick to respond and so helpful (and apologetic for the bat) None of the country critters spoiled our stay - We loved the view and the location was perfect for our family. So much space and grass area for little ones to play. We had wonderful weather but even if it was bad weather there was so much room inside we would have played games and still had a terrific time. I highly recommend this place and would love to come back again with our family. ❤️
Stayed at this great place for 2 nights. We had a large group of 40 and this was the best place we could find for that big of a group. We will be going back again next year. Host was very responsive regarding any questions we had.
We had a great time at this location. There was plenty of outdoor seating and outdoor space. The lodge was big enough to accommodate us all inside even on the rainy days.
Cheryl was phenomenal to deal with. She accommodated several special requests that made our stay incredible. The house is everything you need for a large group with excellent kitchen facilities and room for everyone to sleep. Disc golf is a nice touch as well!
The location is beautiful, with gorgeous views of Payne Lake and the mountains. The lodge was perfect for our family reunion with a large kitchen, two fridges, plenty of outdoor seating and lots of folding chairs and tables if we needed extra. We enjoyed the games and rec equipment (volleyball, football, pool, etc) as well as the grand piano. We also appreciated the excellent customer service and communication provided by our hosts.
Great location and facilities. There are a few tweaks required for the older property such as dining furniture, showers and some mattreses may be too soft for some. Overall, great experience and flexibility demonstrated by the property owner as they gave is a couple extra hours to check out.
We loved our stay at the Payne Lake lodge. Everything was perfect. We had a large group (30) for a family reunion. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. We were grateful for 2 refrigerators for our large group. We arrived earlier than planned and received permission to enter the property before check-in. That was very nice. There was plenty of room for everyone. I loved how every bedroom on the main floor and upstairs have their own wash sink, and every two bedrooms have a connecting toilet and shower. Very convenient. There was plenty of dining space with extra chairs and tables to fit a very large group. We absolutely loved eating out on the patio with the cool breeze and beautiful views. We are all musicians and always hold a talent show for our reunions, thus the beautiful grand piano was very much appreciated. We wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for a marvelous stay!
