Located in a peaceful, leafy neighborhood, our spacious open-plan studio apartment has two balconies that gives guests lovely, expansive city and countryside views.

Having gate access to the wooded reserve, the apartment is ideally suited to nature lovers. We are within easy walking distance to our magnificent Blue Lake and crater lake area.

Perfect accommodation in Mt. Gambier

Sue and Gary are the perfect hosts in this lovely suite. Enjoying the provided but unexpected self prepare breakfast, was a very welcome surprise. The setting is lovely and both made us feel right at home.

Great accommodation

Apart from a great stay in Mount Gambier, this accommodation was excellent and is run by the nicest couple you will ever meet. Sue and Gary greeted us upon arrival and were so lovely and helpful, they were just like family. The location is excellent and quiet, it was just a 3 minute drive into the town. The accommodation is comfortable and very clean. We would definitely stay there again. :-)

Very Comfortable

Warm and cosy, backs onto woodlands near the lake which you can access easily from property. Great for walks and anyone who loves a bit of privacy and long walks.

Highly recommend Sue & Gary’s place. Communication was very good. Directions to the house made it easy to get there. Plenty of info about the area. The place is immaculate & no problems with anything. A!

Fantastic property

I don’t actually want to tell everyone how good this property and property manager are because when I go back to Mt Gambier it will be booked out. No only joking this was a fantastic stay and I really enjoyed it. Very very clean and a great location. Thoroughly recommend this property.

A hidden gem

Sues Retreat was the perfect place to base ourselves while in Mt Gambier. Its in a peaceful part of the Mount, close to everywhere we needed to be. Everything was supplied that we might need, including breakfast, which was much appreciated. Sue and her family and friends were very welcoming and we enjoyed our chats under the carport!

Outstanding!

We were immediately comfortable in Sue’s darling retreat. Everything was perfectly clean and she had fruit, cereals, bread, coffee, tea, etc. waiting to welcome us. The location is next to some beautiful parks, where we were able to walk and enjoy the outside. Blue Lake was an easy walk. Sue and Gary were so welcoming. Great stay in Mount Gambier!

Two warm weeks

We decided to stay here for a restful break in early Winter. Not unexpectedly it was rather cold and wet outside, but the Unit was wonderfully warm and well insulated despite the weather. The bed and couches were very comfortable and the kitchen was easy to work in. We chose to bring a slow cooker and air-fryer which meant we rarely went out for meals. The hot water worked well and the hosts were helpful and friendly. My husband uses a walking frame but this was easy to manage in the Unit. The elevated position of the Unit was a bit more demanding for packing and unpacking the car but the view of Mt Gambier township from the Unit was great.

Great little spot

Sue has set up a fantastic place at the back of her beautiful backyard. Place was very clean and thoughtfully decorated. Very quiet area, with great walks accessible just at the back fence. Kitchenette is well set up and even though there is no hot plate, there is supplied a good quality electric frying pan, so we could still have a cooked breakfast on top of the wonderful breakfast supplies already at hand! Would happily have another weekend here again and hope we can one day.

Quality and tranquility

Sue & Garry were wonderful hosts - they saw to all our needs and were very friendly without being intrusive. The quality of the unit, it’s linen, and furnishings is first class, and the little touches like fresh flowers and ample breakfast supplies were very welcome. Located adjoining a big green space, a short walk to Valley Lake, and set in a beautiful tranquil garden, Sue’s retreat receives our highest recommendation.

Beautiful

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in the peace and luxury we found at Su’s Place. Set in Su and Garry’s wonderful garden, it had everything we needed including a most comfortable bed with lovely linen. An amazing view across Mt Gambier was a bonus — a must-see spot for a quiet glass of wine in the evening ……. K

Town and Country

The apartment is five-star! Spacious, private, spotlessly clean, with quality furnishings and linen. A/C and ceiling fans. Elevated position gives you a view over Mount Gambier and immediate access to the countryside literally at your back gate. The hosts, Sue and Garry, were helpful and very nice.
