Cross House Apartment is situated in the very centre of this popular, picturesque and historic village only 150 metres from the castle. Shops, friendly village pubs, lovely cafes and unique bistros are all within 20 metres but the property still provides a quiet retreat being tucked away behind the main high street. Warkworth is dominated by its fine castle and riverside walks. It's only a 10 minute walk to the sandy bay which stretches from Alnmouth to Amble in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is on the coastal route providing over 20 miles of golden sandy beaches. It is an ideal holiday base for exploring the stunning coastline nearby as well as the Cheviot hills. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are 6 miles. Boat trips to Coquet Island from Amble only 2 miles. Local golf course ½ mile. Train station 3 miles for day trips to Newcastle, Edinburgh and beyond. A local bus service runs on a regular more local journeys. This is an ideal location for exploring the Heritage coastline and beyond. The apartment is next to the owner’s property along with one further holiday studio.

The property is a studio flat which is quiet and comfortable and is situated in an attractive village. Within walking distance to the beam and the area has has well signposted walks.
My husband and I stayed for a week with our Labrador (Bramble). The flat was comfortable, clean and airy, and equipped with everything we could need. We loved the walled garden and the quirky architecture.
We had a lovely short break at Cross House apartment. The property was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. It is superbly located for walks from the door along the coast north and south. The beaches in the area are beautiful, miles and miles of golden sands and clear water. There are also plenty of options within 50 metres of the property for eating out during the day and evening.
We wanted to travel to Northumberland as had never been and it didn’t disappoint. Absolutely beautiful in every way, stunning beaches, villages and fabulous accommodation.The apartment was just perfect for us and our 2 dogs.The garden was large and dog friendly and the accommodation so beautifully presented and we just loved everything it offered We ate locally and really liked the Masons Arms which was very dog friendly and lovely homemade food.Looking forward to visiting again soon
This excellent property in Warkworth is an ideal base from which to tour the wonderful sites of Northumberland. The apartment was clean and offered everything we needed. Warkworth has plenty of free parking, great pubs and restaurant options as well as being walking distance to the beach and other trail routes. The property and local pubs/restaurants are dog friendly. The accommodation and overal area are highly recommended.
My wife and I spent a wonderful 5 nights at the apartment. The flat and the village was exactly as Lara described. Great location for day trips to so many locations. We visited several castles including Warkworth, Alnwick, Newcastle, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Also, spent a day at Hadrians Wall and nearby towns Hexham and Corbridge. Nice market on Thursday in Alnwick. Lara included a 7 day recommended tinerary in her guest guide book that was helpful.Restaurant/pub wise, we had a delicious Sunday roast at Betrams. Also, had dinner at The Masons Arm and the Hermitage...both solid pub food and cask ale options. All within steps from the flat. On the last night, we walked down to Amble and had dinner at the Fish Shack. Stopped over at the Harbor Inn for a pint before dinner. About a 35-40 minute walk each way along the river. Easy drive as well.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Thank you Lara.
We had a lovely time, going to Alnwick, Craster, Lindisfarne and walking around, as well, of course as taking many wonderful walks from Warkworth itself.
The hosts very helpful, the apartment was very comfortable, and had everything we expected - except that basic kitchen provisions - salt, pepper, vinegar and oil as a minimum - would have been appreciated (there was oil!) . When you are only going somewhere for a few nights it is a real pain to have to assume there will be nothing provided.
People could also be advised to book for everything at least a day in advance - visits to castles or homes as well as some of the restaurants.

Great apartment and perfect location in Warkworth. Pubs, restaurants and cafes all in walking distance. Also very close to bus stops for coastal bus service. Lara was perfect host, very helpful and friendly. Will stay again
