We have previously liked staying here with our dog. However we were disappointed to see “upgrades” that had paved over the grassy areas off of the first floor rooms. Access to the river is precarious with no safe path, so walking our dog has now become somewhat inconvenient. Not having a microwave in the room nor a freezer section in the room fridge was also inconvenient. Other than that, it is quiet, clean, and close to downtown.

The staff (Ali in particular) was excellent. Check-in and check-out were friendly, professional, and fast. The noise of the heater in the room was loud, but it did not come on after we warmed the room and turned down the heat for the night. It was annoying in the morning. We did not notice any outside noise or hallway annoyances. The mattress, pillows, sheets, and comforter were clean and comfortable. The construction in the lobby driveway was annoying, but it was clean, and the alternate route in was clearly marked. I like the Edgewater, it's excellent if visiting the University of Montana campus or the downtown area.

I booked my stay online, and as soon as i got there to check in i was notified that there was an extra parking charge, this fee was never mentioned when I was booking the stay. So on top of paying for a room I had to pay extra just to park in their lot. Had I known that before I booked I would have found somewhere else to stay. Why would anyone charge extra to park at a hotel. (Add on...the parking charge was so I could park my own vehicle not a valet service)

Worst customer service I have experienced in the restaurant bar and our group spent approx. $1,000 for dinner and drinks. Room not cleaned thoroughly - stains on counter by coffee maker. $20/night parking fee. Not told about this and have never seen this before in Missoula. Property was under construction and we were not notified of this. No notification that the pool was not available during the time. Remodeled rooms are nicely done.
