Came through in a clutch, should have started here
In short, the room was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. It had a fridge that worked well, the AC kept the room cool, and the Wifi worked perfectly. There's not much more I could ask for, especially at this price point.
The full version was that initially I had another room booked at a different hotel (Sonesta) but because of all the events in town they overbooked. Worse even, they waited to call and tell me until the night I needed the room, two hours before I needed it during the concert I was in town for. At that point every hotel in the area either had no capacity or wanted insane money for one night.
Valley Inn was the only reasonable hotel with a room open so I wasn't sure what I was going to get. Turns out, this was the place I should have picked from the start. They were super accommodating to change the room when there was an extra person. As stated, the room was very clean, it had all the amenities I would expect or need, and I had a great night of sleep.
I would definitely stay here again if I'm back in the area.
The staff was kind, and thoughtful. The stay was quiet. It is an older building but they seem to be keeping it up to date. Would highly recommend and will book a stay again when I am out that way next.

Just ok. Microwave is by office, not in rooms. Hallways not air conditioned.
Room was exceptionally clean- beds were comfortable, AC was a bit noisy and didn’t shut off at set temperatures, had small insects flying in the room, I don’t know what they were…., it didn’t bother us too much, the price was excellent, friendly staff
Overpriced for what is was. Barely acceptable. More like a very low priced hotel room. Worth about half the price.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
The room was pretty neat and clean. There was no small coffee maker in the room, but the manager/owner did provide coffee in their small lobby. When got back to the room after dining at a wonderful nearby restaurant (Dangerfield's), the key didn't work so had to go back down to have it reset. (The same thing happened when went down for morning coffee.) But overall an adequate hotel.
Property overall was clean but cigarette smell and smoke irritant was really bad

The bed was comfortable and I liked the privacy of not being disturbed. I only stayed because I had a lower level room since no elevator. Hallway was Smokey but room was okay. Place was close to the nursing home where my mom died, so it was convenient. The front desk people were very nice, honest, and made me feel comfortable. Wish there was a coffee maker in room, or a microwave. It did have a fridge.
Very comfortable bed, which made up for the rest.

I was charged twice as much as Expedia posted cost.
I ended up leaving and getting a refund. The rooms were disgusting. Stained sheets, dried liquid covered nightstand, there was dried vomit on the bed skirt, the floor was covered in dust, hair, toe nails and food remains. I left immediately. The desk clerk was very nice though

Odd place
The hallways stink terrible of cigarettes. It's hard to get a hold of anyone in the office, it's kept locked. No breakfast. Rooms were clean and nicer than I expected. The first room the TV didn't work. When I got a hold of the office I mentioned a small problem with the room and the lady immediately offered a refund if I left right away. Swapped rooms and everything was fine.
If the sky was falling and this was the only place with a room available, I might consider staying at the Valley Inn. The sheets and towels are in dire need of being replaced (or bleached), and one blanket would have been nice. The hallways smelled very musty and/or smoky. The loud air conditioning unit did serve two purposes: 1. it cooled the room and 2. it drowned out other annoying noises (ice machine, rude guests, and traffic). I would have guessed that I had paid well under &100 for such a poor property...at $170 I did expect clean sheets and towels...and maybe a blanket.
