The property itself is very pretty , great pool and very good food - however the owners lack of English and organisation skills are very limited - There is a very good manager but he seems to do everything for her because she is so chaotic ! For those that remember Faulty towers , this is the French version - you need a car to get to the nearest towns and villages , they are a long walk ! My room was fine but it needs updating and the rooms vary alot - the better rooms are in the first building near reception - it was okay but I’m not sure I would stay there again.

Worst check-in ever! The receptionist simply informed us that they had no rooms available. First she said that they would simply reimburse us, and that we just had to find another place. Then she changed her mind and asked us to check with expedia to get a refund, nothing that she could do to help us.
After arguing for about an hour, she gave us a room. No apology, no explanations, nothing. They offered free breakfast though…but during check-out she wanted us to pay for pert of the breakfast which we refused.

We experienced the same things that were described in other comments: Receptionist couldn't find reservation so Hotelscom had to call in ; room wasn't cleaned when we arrived ; we paid online for superior room and got a basic one ; restroom were leaking with unfixed lid ; when we checked-out they billed us by mistake drinks we didn't take as well as the room that was pre-paid (lol).
Happily the place itself, the pool, the garden are gorgeous so our stay was still very enjoyable. I'd say the staff is doing its best but there is a clear lack of organisation/management.
Really nice place, good value for money. The staff were a bit absent, so there was for example nobody there when we left and we were 3 guests looking for staff which we never found... Otherwise, super comfortable, nice place.

Hotel with great charme. Very traditional french hotel.

The Beginning of Luberon
One cannot help but love the quaint, tranquil, unique villages of the Luberon. When one is so lucky to stay at “Hostellerie le Roy Soleil” in Menerbes than one falls in love with the Luberon region. Everything from the beautiful, natural surroundings of the property, to the lavish pool, the availability of both old, rustic rooms to new, modern ones. This is a location worth staying in for both comfort, quality and tranquility. The owner, Josee and her staff are lovely, accommodating individuals, and may I add very helpful. The village of Menerbes is not far, just a 20 minute walk from the hotel, but ensure you ask one of the hotel staff for the proper directions. It was very difficult for me to depart from Roy Soleil since I felt at home; superb staff and owner of establishment contribute to one’s overall pleasure.
