Had a wonderful stay at Palazzo Bifora. The room was lovely and comfortable. We had a delicious dinner our first night in the hotel restaurant. The location was excellent! Highly recommend!
The hotel is charming and right in the walled part of town. The room was clean and comfortable though not particularly roomy. The service was excellent. The breakfast which is included was delicious and substantial. I would be happy to stay there again.
We couldn't be any happier with our stay at Palazzo Bifora. The room was spotlessly clean, the hotel staff was gracious and helpful, excellent restaurants are located nearby, and the beauty of Mdina (especially at night) was stunning.
The hotel was absolutely so charming from the start. It is truly a hidden gem in an already romantic setting however the staff the decor, the attention to detail, the food the ambience everything was truly amazing and exceeded our expectations. On a hot July day of sightseeing the pool was the best way to end of our day. We spent a good few hours the next morning chilling by the pool before heading off. Priscilla and Maria and just every single staff member that we encountered were only too happy to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I would highly recommend the hotel and I’m most certainly coming back. The food in the restaurant is to die for. I can highly recommend the prawns and the rack of lamb. I still dreaming about it. Absolutely delicious.
The best thing about this stay was Priscila's service. She made the whole experience special. Priscila took care of every detail of our stay, especially in providing us with information and options for places to stay in Mdina. The rooms have a touch of luxury and comfort that surprised us. We will be back, because we miss it! Thank you very much for all your support.

One of the worst hotel stays I have had. The staff are incompetent I have never experienced such poor service across the board which was so disappointing due to Malta hospitality being so fantastic. The pool was closed for two days of our stay and we were told mixed messages as to why. On our 3rd day used the pool there are diners having steak lunches whilst sunbathing. Never offered pool service all day. Upon our final day we were called at 11am asking why we haven’t checked out when the documents in the room and our key card said 12. It was the icing on the cake really. I wouldnt recommend to family and friends. The owner did compensate our chosen upgraded room but the cost is already high. We were made to feel secondary to the customers coming for coffees and lunches and that we were in the way. Very sad as Mdina and the hotel decore are lovely
We loved this hotel. The room and location was amazing, but what ended up making our stay really special was when something went awry with the room—the staff was *outstandingly* helpful, going above and beyond, and it really made our stay exceptional. Highly recommended!
Absolutely lovely boutique hotel in the center of Mdina. Our room was spacious and elegant. The service and breakfast is outstanding. The roof top area is relaxing and pretty. Would stay again.
If honeymooning on Malta you should definetley stay here in the silent city some nights.
Beautiful hotel and surroundings and the most precious staff.
We should have planned a longer stay.
A beautiful boutique hotel. Perfect for a lovely relaxing stay whilst enjoying the amazing delights of Mdina and Rabat. The rooftop terrace is a lovely space to enjoy cocktails and dining. We even managed a quick dip in the pool. Would highly recommend.
Amazing hotel! The owner's attention to detail was impeccable. The hotel itself was a haven of comfort and luxury. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking outstanding hospitality. I will definitely be returning in the future.
We did not like the food at the restaurant, my main course was very salty. They took it away to make it less salty but came back the same. They did offer to make it again but I refused. My husband’s lamb chop was burnt. We paid the full price and the only thing we actually consumed were a bottle of water and 2 beers. The beers were overpriced as the same beer he drank anywhere else in Malta was 3 euros cheaper. The room was very small and we couldn’t move around. We are slim and 5 feet 4.
Palazzo Bifora is a beautifully restored little hotel. Rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated although tiny. Owner Omar is most accommodating and helpful! The ONLY place for improvement is breakfast. Although it is plentiful, there could have been more choices. Because you had to make your choice the night before, we felt the breakfast was prepped the night before (like the cut fruit) and things were not fresh. Eggs were cold. Rather than offering a dessert, maybe offer greater pastry choices and have these buffet style so guests can grab what they want. Also, there could have been slightly better housekeeping. Upon arrival, our floors had fuzz everywhere which required better vacuuming.
5 stars for this 5 star!
This newly opened (November ‘22,) beautifully renovated and meticulously designed boutique hotel in the magical “silent city” of Mdina, is an experience unto itself. Owner operators, Omar and Sandra, worked on their family property for five years transforming the historic house into a six suite, luxury hotel worthy of a spread in a design or luxury travel magazine!
We so enjoyed our stay at this establishment and cannot think of a better way to begin our journey in Malta! Our single regret is that we only booked for one night. For how will we ever know the true scope of the 50+ piece pillow menu? Or get to try all the selections from the delicious breakfast menu? Indeed we never even had a chance to crack a book in the library of our ‘Aragona’ suite, nor while away the hours in the heated rooftop swimming pool!
We did however enjoy a sleep fit for kings under the pineapple lamp shade created by the Royal family’s lamp maker, and hung from such a lofty height! Matched only by the huge window with insignia, a centre piece of the building, and draped in 4 metre long silk curtains. Resplendent indeed!
After fine dining and Maltese wine as per Omar’s excellent recommendations, we wandered thru every winding alley in Mdina at midnight. Having the sleeping town completely to ourselves! Totally enchanting! We felt as if in a medieval movie set, and indeed several scenes from the series ‘Game of Thrones’ were filmed there.
Thank you Omar, Sandra
