This was a hugely disappointing stay. We had spent two nights on the other side of the river on our way down through France and had hoped for better things. Our experience was that we were 'end of season', that staff had lost interest in their guests. We had a very matter of fact welcome and from then on may as well not have been in the hotel. Apart from being, reluctantly, served a drink we were totally ignored for the duration of our stay, hence we chose to eat elsewhere.
On checking out the gentleman at reception didn't even look up from his paperwork but thrust a bill under our noses. He even proceeded to pick up the phone to make a call during our transaction. There was no hint of civility at all. We felt that the drinks that we had were grossly overpriced, probably because we were visitors.
Our room was pleasant and comfortable but we were alarmed to find the fire exit blocked by a huge breeze block which we would have had huge difficulty moving in an emergency.
Sadly not to be recommended and hugely disappointing.
Very friendly proprietor whose speaks english well. Nice location by the banks of the river Loire. Brightly decorated and very clean. The food was excellent, the 14 euro, 4 course menu was excellent, with a cheese course to die for (30 different cheeses!) Breakfast was good too.
