About this property
Rustic Foxhole
A stay in this rustic cabin will bring beautiful sunsets on the beach, an unplugged (no wi-fi) vacation with easy access to Marquette and Munising. Two bedrooms easily sleep four, couches and loft space accessible for more visitors. A full kitchen with full utensils and cooking ware. Toaster, toaster oven, small oven, four burner stove. Dining table, TV with DVD player. This is an older cabin, the water is high mineral content and not recommended for drinking but safe for washing and cooking. Miles of sandy beach right across the two lane highway. The access to the beach is fairly limited, but the Foxhole is directly across from a scenic turnout with an overlook where miles of sandy beach await down below. The parking area on the property is gravel and the walk down to the foxhole is mixed gravel and sand. Only fifteen miles outside of Marquette and and easy drive to Munising, recommended for those looking to take in nature and outdoor activities the UP has to offer. *Note for 2023: The property to the east of the Foxhole has been clearcut, I am unsure of how this will affect the temperature inside the Foxhole. Rates may be adjusted accordingly as the season goes on. Outdoor photos will be updated soon.

Very nice place. Absolutely quiet. Close to Marquette. You will enjoy your stay.
We loved our stay here, right across from Lake Superior and a beautiful beach with sandy hills. 15 minutes from Marquette. The house was very clean, and our group of 4 were very comfortable. Would certainly stay again!
My cousin and I had a wonderful time! The location was central to the places we had planned to visit. Even though it was right by the highway, it was very peaceful.
The cabin was clean and is well-furnished with lots of beds, if you need to sleep many, but for our 3-person family it was more than enough space. Check-in was utterly simple as we got instructions days in advance. The surrounding nature and proximity to the lake, wildlife refuges, the City of Marquette, etc. put it in an ideal location for us-- 15 minutes or so outside Marquette for total peace and quiet when we weren't busy in the city. Would definitely stay again.

This was our first time staying in a cabin as adults, but having grown up hunting and fishing in the Northern California mountains This brought back some good memories. The place was excellent! Even had a private back porch area. And location!!! We got to watch the sun rise AND set over the lake,as we were able to walk across the street to sit on the shore. Great communication with the owner, and enjoyed our week!
Our stay at the Rustic Foxhole was way more than expected. Very clean, had all the amenities needed for a perfect stay. Right across from Lake Superior made it convenient for a beach day and watching the northern lights at night. Just a 10 minute jot from Marquette made it nice and close for any runs into town. Would definitely stay here again. Our host was very responsive with any questions we had. Very recommended property.
The weather was cold windy and rainy! We were so greatful for how peaceful and homey the Fox Hole is. We stayed in and enjoyed the peace! We sat on the back porch and enjoyed nature! We will definitely be we returning with our children and enjoying this little peace of heaven again!
If rustic with a great location is your thing- you have GOT to book the Foxhole!!
Oh man, where do I begin! We couldn’t have asked for a better location. No close neighbors, you’re right in between Marquette and Munising, and right across the road from a scenic turnout that’ll take you straight down to the beach (less than a 3min walk). The place was perfect for us. Everything worked as it should. We had a campfire every night while checking out the stars, and watching the fog roll in. The host, Sarah, was quick to respond to our questions. 10/10!! Will book again. Thanks Sarah!!
The cabin is wonderfully cozy with rustic charm but still comfortable. "Rustic" sometimes reads as boy scout bunk beds, but in this case think lots of wood accents and earthy colors.
A wonderful soft sand beach is literally across the road - 2 minutes walk to the water. We enjoyed a beach campfire in the evening and yoga and a dip in the mornings.
One of my favorite parts is the outdoor shower in the ge backyard! Morning shower and coffee outdoors overlooking the woods and ferns, hearing the birds calling to each other - magical!
The location is a short drive away from Marquette, close to a local sculpture garden and a pottery artist, a little longer drive to Munising and Pictured Rocks.
Highly recommend!
It was a very nice place for just chilling and taking in the vibe of Northern Michigan. Great location although technically not on the beach but across a road to a scenic overlook point that you can walk down with the beach which was beautiful.Only issue was that we were given wrong instructions on entering with the code. Since the location is "off the grid" with no internet access, we could not communicate with Sarah the host. Fortunately we figured it out after a few minutes. Sharing her phone number will help the next guests. It was very clean and very quaint. We thoroughly enjoyed the space and the bed was very comfortable. The gas stand alone "fireplace" did not work. Did not want to mess with it and create a hazard.Oh yeah, when we got to open the door a mouse did come out. No big deal, this is the country and that's what you see out in "Rustic Nature" (btw, did not see any mouse droppings in the cabin)If you want a plac
Great location on edge of town and across road from beach. Everything you need for a nice in Marquette area. Fire pit on sandy spot with supplied wood was great!
The overall vibe is right in the name, its rustic, and if that is what you're looking for this place rocks. It's very cozy and comfortable. The location is nothing short of perfection, right across the road from a beautiful beach, and with great view lines of the sunset and moon right from the comfort of a well stocked firepit.
Rustic indeed, in the best kind of way! Just enough seclusion while being close enough to all you need. The property was clean and had everything we needed. The beach access across the road was a huge plus. We’ll be back!
