"The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The location is good - towards one end of the main strip - so close enough fire easy access to all the restaurants etc but far enough away to avoid the night club noise. Sadly the hotel has suffered earthquake damage. This had totally destroyed the main reception, bar and restaurant. The cottage we stayed in also had evidence of earthquake damage (eg cracks). We only stayed there one night because of this."

As someone who works in the hospitality industry overseas and has traveled the world—staying at top-tier hotels across the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia—I can honestly say this property is exceptional. ​I am almost speechless at the level of service. I had the pleasure of thanking many of them in person, but I want to reiterate: every single staff member, from the Executive Chef and the server/room service team to the gardeners and floor staff, defines what true hospitality looks like.
