Denied us the room and refused full refund

They denied us the room due to my medical alert service dog. They claimed it was a pet even with my paper work, certificates and vest! Worse they lied to hotel.com claiming they would give us the room for an extra $100 and refused refund. We reserved and arrived less than 24 hrs later and we lost a room we did not use almost $400. They said my service dog was unsanitary to the other guests and refused us entry. At 9pm at night we had to find another hotel! Horrible experience

Casa Merced was a beautiful getaway for me. The facilities were clean and lovely, the personnel friendly and helpful, the included breakfast was delicious and the air-conditioned rooms were a welcome respite from the daily heat in Granada. The location was perfect; easy walking distance to all attractions in the town and a convenient spot to do daily excursions. I would recommend this hotel to others and would definitely return in the future!

The best service!

Ónice at the front desk went beyond excellent - she was superb: helping with transportation, recommendations to restaurants, a spa, and a gym. She helped me print my tickets, and was just a pleasure! The hotel was beautiful - colonial & traditional architecture and a very central location make this hotel my top choice in Granada, Nicaragua. Well done 👍

Nice colonial hotel close to the main church

This hotel is a big hour right in front of La Merced church and some steps away from Granada's cathedral. The house is beautiful and has a small pool in the middle, it has some hammocks as well and some chairs and sofas for lounging. My husband and I booked the standard room which in Expedia it was stated as a 2 twin bed room, private bathroom and a cable TV. My husband actually is able to get to sleep with the TV on so that's why we doubled-check on Expedia before booking however the room we got seemed to be recently renovated which was great however there was no TV. I asked the manager Scarlett, who was super nice and friendly about this and she kindly checked if there was other room available with a TV although she said that the standard rooms do not included TV (although Expedia states otherwise). Finally we got another room with the 2 twin beds and the TV however it was not as nice as the previous one, this one was a bit outdated. The bathroom didn't have a shower curtain and there was no shower head as well, just a pipe so it was a bit of a mess, all the bathroom floor super wet.

What a great surprise!

We booked this hotel last minute for our unplanned trip to Granada. What an amazing surprise! Super helpful and pleasant staff, gorgeous Spanish building with an amazing courtyard and pool, and proximity to church and plaza. Would definitely love to go back!

Quiet spot near everything

Casa Merced is awesome. It’s quiet, has great staff, a beautiful courtyard, and is near everything. We will certainly stay here again when back in Granada.

Very friendly staff. Early one morning (6:30) nobody around and front gate locked. Could not get out though I wanted to. That was s but disconcerting. What if there had been a fire? Otherwise agreeable. English limited and so is my Spanish, but it all worked out.

wonderful hotel at a great price

We found this place online and it was a real gem. Made to order breakfast free of charge. Reliable WIFI. Lovely courtyard with hammocks, spacious room with comfortable bed. Great staff, and convenient location. Traffic is a bit noisy in the am, that is the only drawback that I can mention. Would happily go back.
