We truly had the best stay at Whatley Manor, the room was gorgeous and so cosy, the staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgable. Spotlessly clean, the food was fantastic too!
A wonderful stay… the service was impeccable with such friendly and accommodating staff. Dinner at the Dining Room was such a treat. Will definitely return!
Perfect 10 Year Anniversary Stay!
We spent 3 nights at Whatley Manor for our 10 year anniversary and honestly couldn't have asked for better. The suite was spacious, spotless and properly luxurious - plus so peaceful you'd forget you're only an hour from London.
The gardens are absolutely stunning, clearly maintained with real care. We booked the Michelin star restaurant and they were brilliant about my dietary requirements - not just accommodating but genuinely excited to make it work. That attention to detail carried through the entire stay. Every staff member made us feel looked after without being over the top about it.
The lounge was gorgeous, drinks were excellent, and everything from their sustainability efforts to the little stories behind the property just added to the experience. The views alone are worth it.
Only complaint? We just wanted more of it so, wished we'd booked longer. Would absolutely return.
Old charming manor that is one of the best in Cotswolds. Having stayed at a couple others including Lords of the Manor, the positives of this one in comparison are: its easier to get to from London, the grounds are amazing and impeccable, its a truly remote feel among the hills, land and animals of Cotswolds, and the michelin starred Dining Room is probably the best food in the Cotswolds. The only real obvious negative vs say the Lords of the Manor is you arent in walking distance of a charming town/village. But since you most certainly will be renting a car to get here it is a small negative. Highly recommend this hotel!
A fabulous stay which we couldn’t fault. Amazing service, a fabulous spa and the food in The Dining Room was excellent too. We’ll definitely return and will also book in for Sunday lunch soon too. Highly recommended!
This is the place to go when you want to feel special. I travel a lot and the service is 6*.
Bed linen was lovely, location and that special “drive up to the door” and relax.
They even had a special cake in the room for my birthday.
Only recondition for any already superb service are:
Cost of wine!
What an amazing hotel. Booked for 60th birthday treat, gave me a lovely cake and candle in the room! Extremely clean, lovely room, excellent spa. Charcuterie in the evening was an added bonus, excellent. Would definitely recommend and book again
Staff here are beyond amazing! Special shout out to Alivia in the Spa. One of the best therapists across the world!
Fantastic spa facilities. The most beautiful gardens. Responded well to feedback and went above and beyond in their customer service.
Don't waste any time. This is the place.
Perfect grounds and classic structures.
Great restaurant! Chef over-heard me ask about where was 'the local spot" for the best cottage pie. He made it special for me that night for dinner. It was the "Shakespeare of Cottage Pies.
As a veteran of California spas for many years, this is the best spa experience ever, with amazing bubbling pools that connect inside to outside, a series of sauna's from dry to infrared to steam, and a sensory deprivation flotation tank that looks like a space-pod.
Stop thinking. Book your stay!
Had the best stay, loved the spa, great service, very clean, i keep thinking about the amazing brownie and cheeses they served on the antipasti board. Bed was super comfy, very peaceful room.
Downside was the room was boiling even though we turned the radiator off at 6.30pm and in contrast the large steam room and infra red rooms in the spa were a bit cold.
These minor issues are just minor and im already planning when i can return again as 1 night wasnt enough
Whatley Manor is a beautiful property with excellent staff but a bit questionable management.
1. You are grandly directed to drive through castle like doors that open as you approach. However when you dive in, you are greeted by a “What Door do you Choose” option. There are 5 doors to choose from, NONE have any markings. We chose one where we wandered through a good part of the hotel before we reached reception. We had chosen the wrong door!!
2. The lighting switces in the room are all the same with very questionable directions and functions. We never did understand them.
3. I went down to the bar to get some ice and also asked for 2 wine glasses and a wine bottle opener. They gave me the ice but said they would bring the glasses and opener to our room. They did this a a few minutes but the person who deliver them told us she couldn’t leave the wine opener because it was hers. She offered to come into our room and open our wine. Since my wife was indisposed, I rejected her offer.
A few minutes later I called the front desk and asked if they could bring an opener to leave with us. Another girl arrived a few minutes later. But she too said that the wine opener was hers and she couldn’t leave it. A finalily convinced her to leave it and I would return it in a few minutes. Which I did.
The management needs to have their “heads examined”. The staff was wonderful but the management decisions leave MUCH to be desired!!
