Centrally located but very noisy all night long. All night long! Garbage collection, restaurants and bars, and alleyways accentuate people talking, screaming, laughing and accordian playing, all until 6:00 am every morning for the two nights I stayed there. No air conditioning required open windows which made it even worse.

Well kept small property, one of about 5 small buildings. No staff on site, all managed from neighboring Hotel Victoria. Small rooms, but all good, noise well abated from lively street below. Great breakfast in Hotel Victoria.

Excellent value for money, clean, good location and friendly staff. Hairdryer in the room, free safe with hand soap and shower gel. On check out you can leave your bags in the main hotel that’s part of the hostel. Excellent Irish bar opposite and some good restaurants close by. I would definitely stay here again. The rooms are on the small side but was perfect for a city break. To improve a kettle and coffee/tea would be nice and extra pillows.

Perfect for travelers not looking to spend a ton but still want privacy. Room is small but it's all you need. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, just across the street. Hostel was quiet and clean, basic amenities but what you would expect at a hostel. Close to so many things, we walked everywhere. Plenty of bars within a block. I would stay again.

The room was ok a bit small but clean. The check in process was good. There was a problem with loss of water after second day there. They offered to move us to another hotel affiliated with them, which was nearby but, only For one night and we had two more nights to go. But the water was fixed later the next day.

It was not what we saw online. We did not get any sleep because the neighborhood was filled with people partying past 5am and the room was not soundproof. When we got to our hostel door there was a very large mound of smelly trash that looked like a fire hazard. Accommodations were sub-par.

Very good reasonable priced hotel on a pedestrian street in the center of Madrid.

Small hotel run in conjunction with a second small hotel. Where I stayed was only rooms but the check in hotel was a very short distance away and also was the place in the morning for breakfast. My room was clean, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning did work. Also a nice little elevator. When I checked in, the people offered someone to help take my bag over to the hotel sleeping rooms and hence to my room, and since I am older, this was very appreciated. The breakfast itself was ample with a lot of choice in a buffet format. The coffee was especially good. The street this is located on is a very small pedestrian street but with several quite neat bars and restaurants where you can eat outdoors at night and sip an inexpensive wine. Several of the buildings have very beautiful exterior tile work that illustrates some of the people of the area and themes. The location is quite good for going to other places but is very much its tiny private area. This is by far one of the nicest places I have stayed in in the center of Madrid that is not too expensive.

Getting to The hotel was a nightmare as no information was provided in advance. Guides and directions should have been emailed when booking was confirmed. No car access and parking is a far walk. Then trying to communicate and ask for help with staff was difficult. Tried calling and then said he’d send info over via text instead of telling us on the phone so we drove two 25 min laps around Barcelona bc I it’s so difficult to get to where you need to go. Room was so small, sheets and towels weren’t changed and we didn’t even get extra toilet paper.

Recommended location in heart of Madrid

Location, location, location. Frequent travellers, looking for comfort, cleanliness and the all important location. El Pasaje delivered on all. If you are in the city to see and experience the city then this if for you. Firm, comfortable bed, aircon, mini-fridge, safe, wifi, great shower. Everything you need. Within moments from the Hostal you have vibrant bars and restaurants but from our 'city' room, at the back of the property, we had undisturbed sleep. Within comfortable walking distance of all the major sights. Easy check in at Victoria 4, over the road. Staff friendly and helpful (very good English speaking, apologies for our lack of Spanish). Most helpful when we had a pre-booked taxi issue, nothing to do with the hotel, but the gentleman on reception (sorry, didn't get his name) was great at speaking to the driver etc for us. Gracias. If you want a swanky room with a great view, then look elsewhere, but if you want great value for money, clean, comfortable, in the heart of Madrid, then we would recommend this hostal.

Iba con mi marido y mi hijo y yo reservé en el hotel no en un edificio a 10 metros del hotel a parte de que la habitación era mini mini y no estaba adaptada para una familia de 3, horrible no recomendable ni por la ubicación
