  • Located on St. George Hill, over-looking the city of Lviv, the church was the perfect target for destruction in the past. At least two versions of the St. George Cathedral were built before the final construction of the church as it is seen today. The Cathedral of St. George became the mother congregation of the Greek-Catholic religion in Ukraine. The St. George Cathedral in Lviv, is home to one of the most treasured relics, which was brought to the cathedral by Bishop Jiseph Shumlianskyi in 1674. It is the Icon of the Virgin Mary, and is a spectacular and preserved artifact. The interior was decorated with luxurious embellishments created by the local artistic talents of Lviv. Pinsel, the sculptor of the cathedral, created the spectacular St. George (known as the Dragon Slayer) statue. The St. George statue can be viewed in the attic of the cathedral, while the intimidating statues of St. Athanasius and St. Leo protect the portal. Renovations to the St. George Cathedral took place in the 1996, restoring the original beauty of the cathedral. Tourists, visiting this amazing historical masterpiece will not be disappointed. Over and above the cathedral, visitors can also visit the belfry, walk through the peaceful gardens or enter the final resting place of many important figures of the past in the tombs below the cathedral.

To climb the tower, go up the first four flights of stairs to the ticket desk. The way is clearly marked with signs in multiple languages, including English. At the desk, pay 10 hrivna and then keep climbing up, up, and up until you reach the open deck at the top of the tower. Then enjoy the view!

Best Air conditioner in all Ukraine

This hotel is amazing. Sophia the receptionist spoke perfect English and was very helpful. The rooms had a nice mini bar. Breakfast was great and of the staff made me feel welcomed. Definitely recommend this hotel

他のホテルではこれほど安く泊まることのできないような魅力的な宿泊施設です。朝食のバイキングも豊富で、何を食べようか迷ってしまいます。 一方で苦言を呈すると、インターネットの回線が弱く、音声通話等をパソコンで実施すると途切れてしまうことが多々ありました。 またいいとも悪いとも言えないのは客室にミニバーとして冷蔵庫内に飲み物やおつまみが有料でおかれていますが、そのため冷蔵庫の使用可能容量がかなり減っています。そのため冷蔵庫使用予定の方は、買い物に行く前に一度冷蔵庫の収納可能量を確認することをオススメします。

The property is OK and staff is polite and friendly. But our stay at Reikartz Dworzec was complete disappointment. Next day after our check-in we had water outage. We were told that they will fix it soon. After some time we had water but only ice cold, then we had warm water but it did not do through the shower. To make a long story short, we only could take shower the night before check-out. During that time we were calling reception, office and talked to a number of people. They promised to fix it soon. I should admit they were responsive and polite, but the problem persisted. We had to cancel a few meetings and pay for a spa to take a bath. Which ruined our trip and the whole experience.

Very nice hotel - cozy, clean and quiet, with a yard. The personnel is friendly and addresses all questions. Breakfast has everything you could wish for! We really enjoyed our stay.

Hotel Reikartz Lviv

Hôtel très confortable et très propre. Pas de bruits avec des rideaux occultants. Petit déjeuner très bon, complet et avec du choix. Par contre, l'hôtel est très peu visible depuis l'extérieur (surtout quand on cherche lorsqu'il faut nuit), une simple plaque transparente et non illuminé ! Un grand moins à la réceptionniste qui nous a demandé à notre arrivée si la chambre était payée à notre arrivée, on lui a répondu que Oui. Lors de notre départ, 15 minutes de perdu à batailler car elle voulait qu'on paye alors qu'on lui a répété que celle-ci avait déjà été prépayé en totalité.

Friendly staff

The Reikartz group normally offer friendly staff, sometimes unusual Hotels which are refurbished, but always a nice buffet breakfast, efficient, and clean comfortable rooms. Once again I enjoyed my stay with them, and this Hotel was charming and a 10 minute walk to the centre, or a trolley bus ride which ran outside

The services in this hotel were very good. The restaurant provided a cheap but very delicious lunch-meal (4 euro only), including every essential items from Monday till Friday. The staffs at counter are kind and very helpful. I like this hotel. The hotel was mid-way between town centre and railway station. So later I learnt the way to get on trolley bus or bus to get to town centre. It was not difficult. If the city government could provide more information for the public transport to the tourists then it was much better.

Meget god valuta for pengene

Flott hotell ut ifra hva pris skulle antyde. Rengjøringen ble utført perfekt, det var enkelt å spørre om hjelp både i resepsjonen og restauranten, og du fikk hjelp. Gode i engelsk og meget hjelpsomme ansatte. Hotellet virket nytt og velholdt. Gangavstand til det virkelige sentrum er ca. 15 minutter. Veien tilbake er stort sett i oppoverbakke. Mye trafikk i hovedgaten utenfor, men du merker ikke noe som helst til trafikken før du faktisk går ut i gata. Trygt og godt valg av hotell i Lviv.

Flott Hotel

Flott hotel med good service. Ligger i nærheten av togstasjonen i Lviv. Rundt 15 min gå tur så er du i gammle byen. Frokosten og personalet var jeg fornøyd med. billig med tanke på Standard på hotelet. Kommer gjerne tilbake.

Vornweg: Die von Hotels.com schriftlich migeteilte Telefonnummer des Hotels war falsch. Ich mußte erst in Lviv im Touristencenter anrufen (ca €5,-) um dieTel-Nummer zu erfahren. Wie sich dabei herausstellte, waren keinerlei Infos von Hotels.com an das Hotel in Lviv übermittelt worden. Der Service war in Ordnung. Eine sehr große Sauna mit Becken ist im Hotel vorhanden, aber leider nicht abschließbar. Das Zimmer war für den Preis ok, aber die Dusche extrem klein und schon leicht in die Jahre gekommen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und fast zu jeder Zeit ansprechbar, auch in Russisch und Englisch. Es ist (für mich) eine Unsitte in allen Hotels in Lviv, daß, sobald ein Gast die Rezeption betritt, sämtliches anwesende Personal aufspringt um ja im Stehen mit demjenigen reden zu können.

Man behandlades som en kung

Mycket trevligt hotell med alla bekvämligheter och service. Engelsktalande personal som var tjänstvillig och kunnig. Bra frukostbuffé med gott kaffe. Rent och snyggt. Nära till centrum men samtidigt tyst och vilsamt läge. Det gick snabbt att gå och än snabbare med spårvagn till city och gamla stan.

gutes Hotel, guter Standard

Das Hotel liegt an der wohl längsten Straße in Lviv und ist daher leicht zu finden. Vor dem Hotel fahren Mengen von Minibussen, die fast alle ins Zentrum fahren. Man muss nur herausfinden wo sie halten, denn Haltestellenschilder gibt es nicht. Das ist aber leicht. Man muss nur etwa 200 Meter die Hauptstraße entlang gehen. Das Hotel gibt sich große Mühe, einem hohen Standard zu entsprechen. Mein Zimmer war gut eingerichtet, die Einrichtung wirkte wie neu, kein bißchen abgenutzt. Es war alles vorhanden, was ich erwartet hatte. Die Räume waren nicht nur sauber, sondern wirkten auch wie neu. Einziger Makel war die Geschwindigkeit des WiFi, die sehr von der Position meines Laptop in meinem Zimmer abhing. Das Personal war sehr nett, wirkte aber auf mich, als wenn sie sich etwas scheuen, ihr Englisch anzuwenden. Ausnahme war der Kellner im Frühstücksraum, dessen Englisch sicher wirkte.
