There is plastic under the sheets which makes you wonder if is to protect you or to protect the mattress. The barroom floor tiles are from the 70s dark and you can't trust what lives in between. Stains on bed, smell of mold... Glad I changed hotel!
I was looking for the cheapest hotel near USC. This one was the cheapest one that was the closest. I really thought I got a steal. I entered my room and was absolutely horrified. The decor was....yuck. Old, outdated, dark. I really can't describe how ugly the room was. One of our lights was hanging on to the ceiling by a rope. The lights were not bright. Floor was dirty. Overall, I felt like this room was built in the 1970's and decided to stay there. My family was so disgusted by the room that we left our reservation several days early to get out. DO NOT STAY HERE!
Some of the reviews I read before booking this hotel had me worried; however, I was very happy with my experience. It had been mentioned that the hotel was in a "bad" area, but my family and I found it quite nice, although a bit dirty. The area seemed perhaps a little neglected by the city but we were pleased to find that (while walking back at night) it was quite lively with many families out for a stroll. The hotel staff were friendly and accomodating and the room was wonderful for the price. It was a spacious room with 2 queen beds (very comfy!) and a large, roomy shower. Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back next year.

Not too far, Not too close
About a 5 minute drive away from the Los Angeles Convention Center (which we were attending for a convention). Was far enough away from Downtown that it wasn't a hassle and not too close to where driving would of seemed an inconvenience more (we had to transport things to and from the convention) Had all the basics I needed during my stay, except for an iron and a hair dryer. Pleasant enough, spacious room. Floor tile in bathroom was a bit slippery and lights were a bit dim. We found the remote to the tv in the room behind the bed(we had lost something and never realized until then). The other guests in my room found it acceptable. Mostly we wanted to be left alone at night (from long day at con and to get prepared for next day) and we got it.
Overall it was great for the price, but felt lacking in a few spot. I would recommend this place just outside of downtown.
Oh forgot to say. The neighborhood is not as bad as it looks. I know some people might be abrasive about that, so I just want to say it isn't that bad.
At first, I thought it was unsafe being in the Downtown area but it was completely fine and no disturbances even. I would recommend this place. The room was big too.
I booked this room for myself and a friend for the E3 convention. The parking is enclosed, not on the street, which is great for LA. Bring a bottle of bath-oil for the tub; boy does that tub feel good after a day of walking around a convention! Everything in the room was nice and clean. But be aware, it has no coffee pot or microwave, although it does have a mini-fridge.
Terrible run down hotel with horrible customer ser
This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. They decided to cancel my 2 bed room because people didnt leave. WHAT!? So my friend and I had to settle with a 1 bed and they brought us a cott to sleep on. Dont stay here unless you want to watch prostitutes out of your window. Apparently reserving a room means nothing to them. Also most everything in the room was either damaged or broken. The area around this hotel is also very bad.
Please do a favor and stay somewhere else.
This place was so bad that we left and went to another hotel

Great hotel for half the price you will pay
i am pretty sure that they rent rooms by the hour. I booked it for two nights and was sad it wasn't an hour. Its in a bad part of LA, I was not disappointed that my car still had tires in the morning, but I was surprised.

Felt like being at home - in the 70's.
I stayed one night with my teenage son and his friend. We happened to be placed in an oversized room with two queen beds. There was more than enough space for us to move around and get ready, including two separate sink areas. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the service was fine. The room was a blast from the past, decorated in an Egyptian, 1970's theme with lots of orange and many angled mirrors surrounding the room where the walls meet the ceiling. It was fine for us, but my wife might have felt differently. Hard to know how the regular rooms compare to ours, but I'm guessing they are at least clean and comfortable.

Fair to Midlin place to stay.
The hotel kind of worried me as I was driving closer to the destination. Not the best neighborhood, but I found the room large, clean and comfortable with a very good shower. I tend to want a place like this, not into spending great sums just for a place to sleep for one night!

A secure hotel.
It was good but the first day the elevator would not work. I requested towels and did not get any.

not goood area for family stay
Horrible area for families to stay we could even get one extra blanket
I recently was in a Los Angeles for a short visit as my son was preparing to leave for boot camp and I wanted to stay over night so I could visit with him before he left, online the hotel looked decent but when I arrived very late I was automatically upset by the keeper and her bad customer service, the hall smelled of drugs and urine! I will never recommend this hotel to anyone!
We rented 3 rooms for a graduation event. The rooms were all clean and the beds were comfortable. The decor is definitely dated. One of the rooms had a sign indicating that it was a no smoking room; but when the door was opened you could definitely smell the cigarette smoke. The rooms had small refrigerators which was really nice, but in one room, it did not work. One of the rooms we had was a suite and had a small love seat that can only be described as well used. A microwave in the suite would have been nice The carpeting was old and buckling. The TV in the suite had very poor reception and the cable seemed frayed. The lobby had coffee and a microwave -- but it didn't open until 9 am. This is definitely a no frills hotel, but it was clean and comfortable. The only restaurant in walking distance was a Burger King.
My overall rating would be 2.5.
the hotel room is big and clean and has free wifi! BUT it's in a very questionable neighborhood. lots of homeless people and drug rehab clinics nearby. one pitbull roaming the street without a leash or owner.

One night stay
Spent the night of black friday there.. Rooms are out dated with mirrors all along the ceiling(sort of creepy). The rooms was a good size, booked a room with a king size bed. Checking in was fine & staff was nice, they also rememered to call a cab for me to get picked up.. Area wasn't the best and everytime i opened the window it smelt like weed!! But i would stay there again if i had to.
It was very old & overpriced for what you got i was a bit scared being a single woman traveler there it was very 3rd world

big bedroom
My kid said to me it is a nice hotel because there are two king size bed in the room and two basins in the bathroom. I think it is better if there is iron and microwave. Anyway it is a hotel in downtown and have buses to downtown in nearby streets.

Hotel in red light district very dangerous surroundings
Although this hotel was reasonably clean, when we went to go back to it by taxi the police warned us that it was in the center of one of the worst districts in that part of LA and frequented by prostitutes. We felt we had no choice but to go back since our things were in the room and our car was there, There were good locks on the door and nothing happened but I do not think this hotel should be recommended by you. The other two hotels down the street are called the Mustang and the Foxy Lady.
room clean. bare bones. basic local tv plus hbo. 3 night stay, two noisey nights. minor flaws in room, loose ceiling tile. baseboard loose. ok for a place to sleep. not for family. rough neighborhood.
