"Parking was easy and the area was quiet except for the occasional aircraft noise. The doors are to the outside and you could see through a crack in the door to the outside. Made it feel a little unsafe. Expected better from a names brand hotel and looked better in the pics. "

"Clean & attractive lobby, front desk & cleaning staff all friendly & helpful, plenty of parking, very close to Steven Tanger Theater where we had tickets that evening on our way home from SC to WV, basic continental bkfst at 9:00 am included (dry) scrambled eggs, biscuits w/ sausage gravy, pancakes, mini-muffins, toast, yogurts, coffee & orange juice, & apples. Would definitely stay again."

"My husband and I were constantly saying that this was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff were very friendly and extremely welcoming. The room was exceptionally clean. The only issue I had was that the breakfast was not free as it was at the other hotels we stayed at. I give them credit, they let us know ahead of time that we had to pay for our breakfast. We chose to stay there even when we knew that the breakfast was not included in the price of our room. We just went to McDonald’s and got our breakfast, so it was not a big issue. Although I still wish the breakfast was included but the coffee was free😃. I will still give them 5 stars ⭐️ because of all the other great features! I highly recommend The Hawthorne to anyone looking for an exceptional hotel to stay at!!!"

"Such a cute property! Updated, well furnished, comfortable, and just right for our week at the lake. We appreciated stores and restaurants being relatively close (only 15 minutes to the grocery) while being far enough out to get a great view of the stars at night. And the property being pet-friendly was the icing on the cake. Our host was easy to communicate with and super helpful when we had questions — we would absolutely stay there again!"

"Dinner and drinks was an awesome perk, and the full hot breakfast was great. I was worried about the noise because my room was right next to the upper level of the foyer, but with my little noise machine I didn't hear anything and slept well. The hot tub was also relaxing. Overall, it was a very good stay and when you factor in the money saved by the meals, pretty economical. "

"Upon our arrival we were greeted so warmly and enthusiastically. Check in took all of seven minutes! The first room we were assigned wasn’t up to our standards. However, the front desk immediately apologized and changed our room and that room was really nice! The 24 hour coffee bar was a delight and I would choose to stay here again!"
