Tale of two rooms

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. On the first night we were assigned to a room with a street view, and there was so much noise coming from the street that we hardly got any sleep. The next day we requested a new room away from the street side and were assigned a room with a view to the beautiful gardens. Our new room was in optimal condition and there was zero noise at night. The staff was excellent as they made every effort to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Lastly, the gym room is made up of 4 cardio machines and two of them are out of service. It would be nice to have all of these machines available. Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel as long as the garden view rooms are the ones assigned. This is definitely the most beautiful hotel in León. The building itself is a jewel with much history, and the decoration is of great taste. The garden is beautiful as well. The hotel is in itself a tourist attraction.

Historic yes, but needs updating

The hotel is conveniently located, and the historic nature is lovely. The staff was very nice as well. But, that's about it. Rooms are so-so. Pool is ok. Wifi might as well be non-existent. Restaurant is terrible. Don't bother with that.

Tranquil stay in the heart of Leon

Overall a great stay; clean interior; historic facilities were balanced with up-to-date with maintenance; staff accommodated a later room check-out with time to shower after volcano boarding; parking had to be valet in attached area though very secure, premises were well-lit; air of tranquility in courtyard; location in city center was very good (only a few blocks from the main church); fast check-in/check-out; wish they had more fluent English speaking staff.

A lot better than Best Western

Same price as Best Western but way better value. My room was huge and I didn't want to leave the hotel. Lobby was big and courtyard was amazing, all open. My bus didn't leave until 1 am and they were very accommodating. Breakfast was big but normal. The staff were very helpfull and good english. I thought the Catholic theme was creepy with Jesus being tortured everywhere.

Hidden Gem in the City

Leon is a busy and congested and El Convento is an oasis in the chaos. Such a unique hotel experience and super helpful staff. We would tell anyone we know going to the area to stay there!
