wonderfully restored old mansion. Rooms were charming... nicely designed. In fact the entire facility has been thoughtfully brought into today's design standards. Very accomodating staff... although many appeared to be a training mode. Need to improve the professionalism a bit. They have a new general manager (had only been there about 2 weeks when we visited)... seems he has a number of things on his agenda that will improve the property even more. Food was good... but not wonderful. Breakfasts are good to dine in... probably better to go out for dinner. The view out the back is just what you see in the on-line photos... absolutely beautiful at sunset. Great place to stay... would do it all over again!
It was absolutely beautiful. The views from back porch stunning. The house is decorated with such great style. The house is warm and inviting as well as being very elegant. The staff all very helpful and polite.
Absolutely amazing staff and great place. Couldn't ask for a better experience! Will be going back!

Pleasant, professional and very helpful staff. Gorgeous, elegant and comfortable inn. Loved the beautiful view of the Berkshire Mountains from our bedroom!
Lovely hotel! On the edge of town with an easy walk to restaurants and shops. Staff was attentive, welcoming and helpful - especially Caroline! Enjoyed chatting with her and finishing our evening with a relaxing glass of wine on the porch.
Only suggestion is to fix the coffee machine or make hot coffee available earlier in the morning. Breakfast was delicious, but not available until 8:30.
I have stayed at many inns in the Berkshires, especially in Lenox, and Kemble Inn is definitely one of the best. It's a beautiful building with amazing views from the back of the mountains. There are only 9 or 10 rooms, but each is well-appointed and spacious. They are immaculately clean. This was my second stay there, although I have eaten at their restaurant ("Table Six") many times. I have gotten to know the staff and I must say that to a person they are fabulous people! In fact, a few have become friends over time. They work extremely hard to please their guests. They exude warm hospitality. The inn is in the center of Lenox within walking distance from several excellent restaurants and shops. It is a 5 minute drive to Tanglewood. The prices are high, but they deliver in terms of quality. Excellent food, too.
Great inn, and great spot to town . dinner was average and overpriced. And I thought sharing plate charges went out in the 90's especially when we bought a $160 bottle of wine.
This was an invitation from my sister. The room was nice and clean but to our major dissapoinment the breakfast was cancelled and we had to go out to get our own. Not nice, not what I had thought from a upper league Inn. We are not coming back.
With breathtaking views and historical architecture, the Kemble Inn was a lovely place to stay. Mark was warm and welcoming. Green Room bar is a new addition. Our bed was comfortable. We actually brought a fan with us to drown outside noise and so glad we did. You can hear everything. White noise on your phone might suffice. I gave it a low rating for cleanliness because the white towels in our bathroom were stained. Also, bathroom mirrors were very streaky and dirty which gave me an overall feeling that the cleaning may not be up to par. I think if they improve the cleaning, it would be fantastic. Finally, it's a short walk to town or bike ride to Tanglewood (if you don't mind hills).
We really enjoyed our stay
Room ok, but some other rooms much nicer
Staff great and very accommodating.

A British Country Hotel in Lenox?
This hotel was booked four months ago for a special occasion. For the price, we would have been better off elsewhere, where we could have tailored our event more to our liking. But that was with hindsight, and only we are to blame. The Kemble Inn comes across as an effort to mimic a smaller version of one of those wonderful, stately homes in England which have been turned into spa resorts. The potential is there, but for us The Kemble did not come up to grade. The entry is attractive, with a stunning staircase, but that is the most memorable architectural feature of note. The main problem is that too many first floor rooms are used as guest rooms, with only one small lounge available for reading, conversing, afternoon tea or cocktails or post-dinner coffee. Sadly, while very attractive, the lounge was closed after dinner, so having coffee there was not an option. The hotel boasts a highly touted restaurant -- Table Six. It is located in another delightful room, with a roaring fire place, although seating arrangements could be improved. Reservations are somewhat difficult to secure, and if you are booked for 8PM, don't count on having your choice available for one of only two desserts available. The menu and wine list are limited, although the quality of the latter is excellent. There are some excellent food options available in the nearby downtown which would probably have been a better choice for us. We will know better next time.
I absolutely loved staying at the Inn. I love the interior decor with its mix of art deco style. And, I loved eating one of the best meals ever on their porch at sunset. My stay was memorable.
The Kemble Inn was by far one of the best out there! Beautiful setting, gracious staff, gorgeous rooms and out of this world food! Can't wait to go back!

Old Mansion converted to an Inn
The duvet covered was stained and the blanket was old and ripped everywhere. The pillows were extremely flat and if you stay on the first floor be prepared for no sleep as you can hear every noise from people coming in and out, every footsteps upstairs, and breakfast happening in the morning. Also, got a cheese and champagne platter and the tray it came on had a thick covering of dust. Not worth the money here.

Do NOT stay in 3rd floor rooms! I should have paid attention to other reviews.
If you can't afford the rooms on the 1st or 2nd floor, don't stay here! The rooms on the 3rd floor are like Upstairs/Downstairs, much worse than the servants' quarters in Downton Abbey, especially Room 301. The rug is terribly dirty, the bed is lumpy, and it was so hot at night, we couldn't sleep even though 2 windows were open. Providing fluffy towels and high end shampoo isn't enough! I would have rather have stayed at a local motel than have paid the total of $330 with taxes and MANDATORY service charge for this room. Others gave warning in their reviews. I disregarded them because I called the hotel, and they said that the room was nice. Naught! To be fair, Kemble Inn is a gorgeous old hotel with a beautiful stone patio and fantastic views. It's only a few blocks to the center of Lenox, so it's a perfect location. And the breakfast (included) was fantastic! The hotel has been remodeled; the restaurant, Table 6, is very highly regarded. I have a feeling they just haven't gotten to the third floor yet. But they shouldn't rent room 301 at all! You have been warned!
